"Mom, I've told you I cannot marry Jeremy. I don't love him," Cindy replied.
"Shut your mouth, Cindy! Why do you keep stressing me and your father in this house? Is it because you're our only child or what? Gosh!" Mrs. Bola ranted, and Cindy frowned standing up from her bed, and wrapping her arms around her chest.
"Mom, I don't like Jeremy, and that's the truth. I have someone else I like..." Cindy said, and Mrs. Bola stared at Cindy in shock at first, as she assumed Cindy was lying to her.
Ever since Mrs. Bola had known Cindy, she had never acknowledged liking a man.
How could it be that all of a sudden, now Jeremy was asking for her hand in marriage, Cindy suddenly remembered that she liked someone and wanted to use that person as an excuse to reject Jeremy?
