Elijah's anger radiated off of him scaring the young ones nearby. I went to him calmly, "Elijah you need to calm down" I saw him look at me wits a sarcastic look on his face. "Calm down?" he lowly growled at me, at first it didn't bother me. "Yes you need to calm down," I started to get a little frustrated, "I don't need to calm down, I have the right to be angry." He growled at me aggressively, sending a shock of fear up my spine. The look of guilt soon struck his face. I watched the looks of fear and regret mix onto his face, I turn around and walk to the back door, walking outside with a little tug of worry tugging at my brain. I decided to go to the old lavender meadow at the far side of the territory.
The smell of lavender and river water mixed in the air as i walked through the tree line. Laying down in the large meadow felt like laying in heaven to me. I watched the river for a while and listened to the birds. After a while I started to doze off into a world of dreams.
I woke to the feeling of the warmth that circled me, I tried to stand but something was holding me down, my mate. I seem to wiggle out of his grip and not wake him up, I stood, stretched, and started shaking out my fur. When I was done I look over to see my mate looking at me with sorrow filled eyes. 'I'm sorry love if i scared you yesterday' he says via mind link. I walk to him and snuggle close burying my face deep in his fur, inhaling his scent it seemed to calm him ' It's OK, we just went a little to far' I answer. He wraps one of his wings around me and rubs up against my neck with his nose. I suddenly remembered, when do I start school? 'Hay Eli can you ask "Dad" when I start school' I ask him via mindlink 'sure' he responds.
I wait a few minuets and head over towards the treeline. 'He said you start on Monday and that he is sorry' I heard my little brother's voice break through my thoughts 'ok thanks'. I stand and shift back but my wings don't go back in "Elijah my wings won't go back in!" He stands and looks at me surprised 'let me try, it could be a mistake in the shift?" I watch as he shifts back and his does the same thing. "what do you think is going on?" I ask him "I don't know, lets get dressed and later i'll try and find out how to fix this" he says grabbing clothes from the big Maple tree. I'm glad we put spare clothes every were around our territory just in case of emergencies. He hands me a white sundress with a pattern of flowers on it, and a pare of black leggings. Personally I think this is the cutest outfit I've ever worn. He grabbed out a pair of baby blue jeans and a gray T-shirt for himself. It was a little hard tho, we had to cut holes in the back of our shirts for our wings, it was a little exhausting. "wanna go back to the pack house," he asked out of the blue "sure" I answered flying up into the soft white clouds with a swift movement of my wings.
