One Night Stand: My Blood's Justice

FIVE YEARS AGO

It was a beautiful morning in the town of Beverly Hills.

It's the weekend and everyone is at home, resting, having fun and preparing towards the new week.

The afternoon sun beats down on Zevian’s back mercilessly as he passes through the thick bushes at the edge of Beverly hills.

His hunting bag rested on his shoulders, and sweat soaked through his T-shirt.

‘Giving a heavy sigh…Hmmmnn’, it hasn't been easy, he said.

He walked through, hearing the sound of the running water.

He was relieved. He followed the path until it reached a narrow stream winding between the waving trees.

Zevian kneeled by the riverbank, scooping up a handful of water and splashed it all over his face. He drank out of the water and he felt very much relieved.

As he bent down again, his eye caught something fascinating. A faint light shone beneath the surface of the water.

His eye brow raised up.

What the hell is this? He picked up a small stone rubbed in mud. He cleaned it against his palm.

The very moment the dirt went away, a metallic golden shine flashed into his eyes.

Zevian’s heart raced faster… Years of working at a gold mine company has taught his eyes well.

Feeling and seeing the texture and weight of the stone, ‘no way’.

How could this riverbank hold gold in it? He dug another side of the river and saw another one. Definitely, the area in this riverside is full of gold.

This will really be an opportunity for Beverly Hills, my co-miners, and my company at large ‘Barrick gold mine Company’, he said.

He rushed, leaving the riverbank with the evidence of gold he had just seen, eager to show and tell his boss.

He branched at his home. No one was around, everyone went to enjoy the weekend.

Eager to tell his boss what he had just discovered, he left a message.

‘I am going to the city for something important. It's regarding the mine. I will soon be around later in the evening’.

The roads were busy and it was extremely difficult to get a taxi or tricycle going towards the city of LA as it is the weekend.

Luckily for Zevian Haven, a community member of his who had a cab, was going towards the city of LA.

He said to him, ‘are you going towards the city of LA? Hop in.’

Without hesitation, Zevian hopped in and the man dropped him a few steps away towards the Barrick Gold Mine Company.

Zevian went straight to the administrative office in the mine company.

‘The elevator dings as he leaves the lift’, and goes straight into Derek's office after seriously insisting to see the CEO.

I bring in good news towards this mine company, Zevian said as he took a menacing and bravery steps towards the chair where Derek Molson was sitting.

Get back, how dare you a random miner barge in without courtesy, Ariel Molson said.

Initially, Derek Molson, Ariel Molson, and Tristan Molson were having a conversation on how the company is going to grow up and be well known across all cities, ensuring a larger profits to them at all cost.

What good news have you brought to us Mr Zevian, Derek Molson said in a deep voice, signifying how angry he is at the current moment.

‘Ariel Molson looked at Zevian Haven with a bombastic side eye’.

The Molson family were initially ruthless and cruel; they could do anything to achieve whatever they wanted. I need to be careful, Zevian Haven said to himself in a murmuring state.

‘Are you seriously bringing in a random stone for some fun’, Derek said to Zevian.

Test it with the X-ray Fluorescence analyzer, Zevian said.

Derek placed the stone beneath the X-ray Fluorescence analyzer, a few seconds later, the screen flashed with the accurate results.

“Ninety-seven percent gold, the result showed”. The room went completely quiet.

How can we be sure this isn't a random pick from an old side cargo, Ariel said, facing Zevian with a heart of disbelief in him.

Zevian put his hand into his pocket and stretched forth another piece of a shining stone.

It was tested as well, giving the same positive results. That small piece of stone was completely pure natural gold.

Take us to where you saw this, Ariel said to Zevian in hesitation as the second scan was positive as well.

‘Not so fast’, Zevian said.

Before I can take you there, we have to make an agreement. I discovered this gold and its location. I can't disclose it for free.

Ariel looked straight into Derek's eye and back to Zevian saying, how dare you make an agreement or a deal with the Molson family, things will be at stake.

Seventy-nine percent of people working in this gold mine company are from the town of Beverly Hills, my town Zevian said to the three of them.

Beverly Hills will be collecting a profit share of 15% annually for the growth of the town, the gold discovery is across that town. 5% for me and my family quarterly, and 20% for my co-miners altogether because we are one.

Ariel Molson folded her arms towards her chest as Zevian Molson was speaking. She gave a weird smile.

Of course, Mr Zevian. You all will be rewarded handsomely, she said. Take us to the exact location where this was spotted and all shall be concluded without any hindrances.

‘Derek Molson stood up’.

Grab the keys and let's head to the location, he said to Tristan. The four of them went into the car.

They have reached the town of Beverly Hills and are heading towards the bushy part of the town.

‘Aren’t we there yet?’ Ariel Molson said to Zevian.

‘Stop the car’, Zevian said to Tristan who was driving the car as they reached towards a narrow path.

We have to take a few more steps to reach the exact point as a car could not reach there, Zevian said to the three of them in the car.

While walking towards the location, Ariel murmured to Derek's ear.

‘Once he shows us the exact location, we won't be needing him anymore’.
