Jane

I am so excited today is my first day. I choose denim jeans and a white top to go with it. After deciding what to wear I go to wake jasmine up.

''Hey wake up sleepy head.'' I shook her shoulder a little. She groaned.

''Wake up, Jas, or we will be late for the first lecture, and after that, you have to give me a tour of the grounds too.'' I shook her asked on which she jerked my hand away and pulled the comforter on her covering her from head to toe.

An idea popped in my head and without any voice, I went to the end of her bed and pulled the comforter with full force. She sat up with a jerk.

''What? What is it?'' she started searching for her culprit. While I was dying trying to hold my laughter in. Not being able to stop any anymore I laughed out loud. She threw one of her pillows at me. I dodged that and quickly ran away to the bathroom but not before shouting.

''THAT'S WHAT YOU GET FOR NOT WAKING UP.''

I took a quick shower and got dressed. I put a little makeup on and left my hair down. After making sure I got everything I need I waited for Jas to finish.

Once done we both made our way to the campus.

''Hey, grumpy head.'' I poked jas in the ribs.

''What?'' she snapped.

''Sorry babe what is this are you going to be like this on our first day,'' I gave her my best puppy dog eyes.

''Okay okay, I am not mad. Now stop with this acting,'' she said making me smile at her.

We reached our first lecture thank god the teacher is not here yet. The first lecture was boring I barely got through it. The went by like that uneventful time to go for a lunch break came. We made our way to the cafeteria took our lunches and settled down at a table. Just as we were about to start a good-looking guy with shaggy hair and green eyes sat next to jasmine giving her a sweet little peck on the cheek. Making her blush.

''You are late today,'' she asked him.

''Yeah, I overslept.'' he smiled sheepishly at her. I fake cleared my throat to make them come out of their dreamland.

''Oh sorry, Andrew this is Jane my roommate and Jane this is Andrew my boyfriend.'' she introduced us. We shook each other hands.

''Hi Jane, How are you?'' he asked me with a sweet smile. He was cute.

''I am fine.'' we were making small talk when I felt someone's gaze burning through my head. I looked around only to get my breath hitch. The same intense grey eyes from last night were staring more like burning holes in mine. Making a shiver run down my spine. His eyes are worth getting lost in. I havn't been attracted to someone like that before. His aura is captivating. He held me, prisoner, in his gaze. I wanted to look away but couldn't.

But something despicable made me want to barf. A small manicured hand was on his right cheek that made me look at the person sitting right beside him. She moved his face to hers and pecked his lips. A gasp left my lips and a burning sensation started behind my eyes. He had a girlfriend. Not able to look at him anymore I turn away. Want to run away from here.

Thank god for Andrew Jas was busy with him. And didn't notice my little heartbreak. I stood up not wanting to sit there anymore.

''I'll check out the library. See you later Jas. Andrew.'' without making any eye contact with them I gathered my things and rushed out of there directly for the ladies' room.

Once inside a stall, I closed the lid of the pot and sat on it. And let my tears free I don't know why this is hurting me. I don't even know his name. Still, I felt a connection to him. It's my first day and here I am crying over a guy who I didn't even know. Way to go Jane. But why does he keeps staring at me with those intense eyes if he had a girlfriend already?

Ugh, boys will be boys. After reigning my emotions in. I move to the wash basin and washed my face. I shouldn't let him affect me like that. But I felt a strong connection with him. Ugh! frustrated at my thoughts. I moved out of the restroom only to be bumped into a hard chest.

''Sorry sorry I didn't see where I was going.'' a masculine voice said thickly with an accent.

''No it's okay it was my fault anyway. I am sorry.'' I replied still rubbing my forehead. Damn that chest was hard.

''Hey let me see. Did I hurt you that bad.'' he held my chin with his forefinger and chin and held my face up for a better look at my forehead. His strikingly dark grey eyes reminded me of someone with the light ones making me flinch at the memory. At my reaction, he immediately let go of me.

Raising his hands in an act of surrender he said ''Sorry''. getting tired of hearing the same word again and again I introduced myself.

''Hi, I am Jane.'' I offered my hand for him to shake.

''Hi I am Luca.'' he offered.

''Freshman?'' I asked.

''Yeah, you.'' I nodded.

''Are you from here,'' I asked him curiosity getting the best of me.

''No, I am from Italy. My dad transferred here this month.'' that explained the accent. That kind of soothing by the way.

''Uh, I was looking for the administrative office. Do you happen to know where that is?'' he asked. Oh, Jas showed me that in the morning.

''Yeah come I'll show the way.'' not wanting him to get lost I decided to escort him there. He does look like he needs some help.

''Thank you so much.'' he has the sweetest smile. I guess I made my second friend today. Not bad Jane good going.

After showing him to the administrative office and exchanging numbers with him. I decided to get to our dorm room. While going there my phone rang. Pulling it out from my pocket I saw Benjamin face time. I picked up the call.

''Hey, ben How is it going?'' I asked in my best cheerful voice.

''Everything is good here. You say how everything is looking till now. Want to come back now.'' I laughed out loud at that. Ben has been against it from the beginning he tried to stop me from going even guilt trip me but I had to get out of there. And look at him still trying. It hasn't been even a day since me been here and he is hoping for me to go back.

''Nope, I am good here.'' we chatted for a while. I showed him my room all over my dorm. He told me his proposal went well and Ashley is now his girlfriend. Since the beginning of our high school senior year, he has been pining for her. She is his neighbor. They have been friends all their life. But he couldn't get the courage to ask her out. After a lot of encouragement from all of us did he ask her out. And as anticipated she said yes.

Thank god for that. Otherwise, god knows what would have happened to him. Jas came back at noon only to get ready to go out with Andrew for a movie before they both would be joining their part-time jobs. She asked me to join them. Not wanting to be a third wheel I denied saying I'll rest for today. Giving some menus of the nearby restaurants and some emergency numbers she left. I guess I'll see her in the morning now.

I ordered takeout for myself. Today was tiring emotionally. Why did he affect me that much I don't know whenever I closed my eyes his face made an appearance in front of me. His intense light grey eyes, his full pink lips, and his chiseled jaw and high cheekbones. On top of that those silky dirty blonde hair of his. I badly wanted to run my fingers in them. But gosh today was a dream breaker with that girl clinging to him and kissing in front of me. That sight made me open my eyes with a jerk.

I looked around to see my room drowned in the darkness. Realizing it was still night it took a while for my eyes to adjust to the darkness. I looked towards Jas bed's to see her body tucked in her comforter. Looks like it's midnight. Gosh, now I am having dreams of someone else boyfriend. What is wrong with me. With a groan, I slumped on my bed again giving in to my slumber.
