I woke up and patted the bed in my semi-asleep state. When I felt the cold bed next to me, my heart dropped and my eyes opened. My hands gripped the sheet and I tried not to cry suddenly. It was the first time I had fallen asleep with someone and woken up alone. The door opened and as soon as Xavier saw my face he rushed over.
"Woah woah woah. What's wrong, Kifa?" He asked as he pulled me into a sitting position and then into his arms.
"You weren't here," I said with a quiet sob. I felt his body flinch against me. He put his hands on my cheeks and met my eyes.
"I am so sorry Kifa. I didn't know that would upset you. I was making you breakfast." I looked to see the tray of food he had hastily placed on the bed. It didn't look amazing and I could tell he had cooked it himself. He grimaced
