After we ate, Xavier washed the dishes for me. I found myself smiling as I watched him. He was so different from how he let other people see him. "Why don't you let people see the real you?" I asked, almost without thinking. His back stiffened as he dried the dishes. He glanced at me out of the corner of his eye. I tilted my head and frowned softly at his behavior.
