Alan showed up a few minutes later and Nigel filled him in on what he had figured out. Alan nodded softly and looked at me. Xavier had sat back in one of the armchairs and pulled me into his lap. He had calmed down somewhat, but I could tell he was still on edge. I knew this was hard on him too. Nigel's computer dinged again and he checked it. He looked over something for a few minutes and nodded to himself. "Your results are fairly normal," he said as he looked up at me. He checked the time on his watch. "My colleague should get back to me soon." Xavier wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me close. "Is it really the only way?" He asked suddenly and Nigel looked over my shoulder to lock eyes with him. "Unless your brother would be willing to help us out," Xavier growled harshly
