On my first official day back to the office, I spent it almost buried in work. I apologized to everyone but it seemed Xavier had already smoothed over my absence with them. I felt touched. At the end of the day, I walked into his office. He looked up from his papers and smiled. My heart clenched softly.
"Do you need something pet?" The nickname he only used in private was a sound I would keep close to my heart to ease the pain I was about to cause.
"Um actually." I fidgeted softly and he raised an eyebrow. "I was wondering if we might be able to have another date, as it were." His eyes lit up and he stood from his chair.
