The hotel manager and bellhop helped us get out of the lobby and outside towards my car.
I quickly get my car keys out and unlocked the trunk, whilst the manager and bellhop block us from the news reporters.
“How long were you guys there for?” One of them asks us.
I closed my trunk after we fed our suitcases.
“I want to hold my Simba plush.” Tara sighs.
“Well, he’s deeply packed in that suitcase of yours.” I chuckled.
Then we heard the same lady ask us the same question.
“How long were you guys there for?” The lady presses now.
Making Tara turn to face her and walk in between the manager and bellhop.
“We’ve been there for seven hours, read my lips, only seven hours. It felt like longer but nope it wasn’t.” Tara says very clearly.
A lot of them were writing it down on their little notepads.
“Any other questions? I’ll only answer a few.” Tara says impatiently.
They all raise their hands.
Great.
“Yeah, did you speak to Disney about what happened?” A guy asks.
“Yeah we did, and no, I’m not going to tell you what was said between us and Disney.” Tara says whilst crossing her arms over her chest.
I see a lot of them roll their eyes.
Well they shouldn’t have to know what exactly was said between two people.
That is an invasion of privacy.
“Next.” Tara says.
“Did you two ride any rides?” A girl asks.
“Well no, because we were the only two people there, so you kind of need someone to operate the rides you know.” Tara explains.
Making the girl nod and write it down.
Then Tara answered a few more questions.
“No, we did not climb to the top of Cinderella’s castle, we aren’t King Kong you know.” Tara explains making everyone laugh.
“We’ve been best friends since 2nd grade.” Tara says with a smile.
Then looks at me still smiling and I smile at her.
Then turns back to face the press.
“I don’t think we’ll be visiting Magic Kingdom again, for a while.” Tara says making everyone laugh yet again.
“One last question.” Tara says.
She then picked someone from the back of the crowd.
“Were you guys scared?” A guy asks.
Tara starts to think for a little.
“A few times, we were freaking out, but usually we made the best of the situation.” Tara says nodding her head.
“Goodbye guys, we are going back home.” Tara says waving and then following me back to my car.
I get in the driver’s seat and she got in the passenger’s seat.
*****………….*****
We stop by a Chili’s because we were so hungry, and it is only 3:15 pm.
Once we were seated, the waitress handed us our menus.
“What would you guys like to drink?” She asks.
“Um, a coke.” I say.
“Yeah, I’ll have that too.” Tara explains.
The waitress nods.
“Okay, I’ll be right back.” She tells us.
Then walks away.
I noticed the people at the next table over are looking at us and whispering to one another.
This makes me kind of red.
I hate being the center of attention.
“Want me to tell them to f**k off?” Tara asks from across from me, not even looking up from her menu.
“No, that’s okay, we are on the news.” I tell her.
We might as well get used to it.
Our moms went back home after we got let go from the police station, and Brandon drove back home too, and Tara’s dad and Victoria are still in the hotel, because they wanted to stay there for a few more days to celebrate their engagement.
“Alright, here are your drinks, are you guys ready to order?” She asks us whilst getting her pen out.
“Um yeah, we’ll start off with some appetizers.” Tara explains whilst looking up at her.
She nods her head and then grabs out her notepad.
“I’ll have the Southwestern eggrolls.” Tara says.
“Okay, and what about you?” The waitress asks turning her attention to me.
“Um, the Awesome Blossom Petals.” I say softly, but thankfully she heard me.
After she wrote it down, she gave us a small smile.
“I’ll be right back with your orders.” She says, and then leaves.
“Can you believe we actually stayed overnight at Disney World?” Tara asks me whilst sipping her coke.
“I am still trying to comprehend that it actually happened to us.” I say whilst letting out a small laugh.
Oh my gosh, I can’t believe that happened.
I mean, while I was growing up here in Florida, that was one of my main worries as a child.
Being locked in Disney World.
“Well it f*****g did.” Tara chuckles.
“Damn right it did.” I say.
Then I take big drink from my coke.
“I can’t wait to go home.” Tara says.
“Me either girl. Me either.” I agreed.
Tara then sticks out her glass of coke.
Making me do the same thing.
“Cheers to surviving the night at the happiest place on Earth.” Tara says.
“Cheers to that.” I chuckled.
And once our glasses clinked, we both started to drink.
“Two girls were locked inside Disney’s magic kingdom last night, and may I say, that would have given horrible anxiety if I was in their shoes.” We heard a news woman say on the television.
“You’re telling me Raven, I would be crying my eyes out like a little kid, most of my whole time being there.” The news guy next to the lady says.
Making me bite my lip and let out a small smile.
