Karensa had changed a lot. I thought she would be unwilling to stay and had guards positioned around the house to make sure she didn't try any tricks. So far, she has been docile. It seemed she had finally resigned to her fate, knowing I would never hurt her, not like I planned to do that.

For three days now, she had been meeting me at the doorstep with a mug of steaming tea. I always looked forward to returning home because of that. I knew she would be at the door waiting with a steaming cup of drink, and that always made me eager to return.
