My heart was pounding so loud I was sure he could hear it. His face was so close now, his lips just hovering—taunting me with the promise of what I craved but couldn’t admit. I didn’t stop him. Hell, I didn’t want to. When his lips finally touched mine, it wasn’t rushed or frantic. No, it was slow. Deliberate. Like he wanted me to feel every second of it. And I did.
His scent surrounded me, rich and heady, a mix of cedar and something uniquely him. My knees felt weak, but that didn’t matter. His lips left mine, trailing down to my neck, pressing kisses so light they were maddening. When he reached my ear, I swore I could’ve melted right then. My wolf stirred for the first time in what felt like forever, her presence electric and restless under my skin.
