The ride to Ellie’s apartment was quiet, quieter than Adrian would’ve liked but sometimes women needed space. He’d seen his older sisters like this. When they’d been younger, they’d been thrilled and super excited about any new guy they’d dated but as time went by that excitement had been replace by doubt and hesitation. The guys who made it though, the ones who won the game, were the ones who didn’t push. It went against every instinct he had but he’d give her some space and some time but not much. He wanted her in his life and his bed, and he was going to do whatever he had to do to get that.
He parked his car in an empty space next to her building.
“Thanks. I’m glad I got to see you knock Marc out.” She smiled and his heart basically disintegrated.
