Chapter 13

Star P.O.V.

  It’s been a few days since I became Queen. With help from Max and his mother I have not felt alone. Today is the first day that I will be doing Luna duties. I was awake and ready to go for the day by 6:30 am. Growing up Mat and I were expected to be ready by 6:30 am. As the Alphas children we had to set an example for our other pack members. As next leaders we were always looked up too. Many younger children worked really hard to like us. Many young girls would ask me to help them learn to be proper ladies and good fighters. Our pack is known for our fighting skills with the high ranking members being the toughest. We believed that everyone should know how to protect themselves as well as their pack. 

   “How are you able to be up and ready so early?” Max asked me. “I was raised to act like a Luna. My mother always had me by her side whenever she dealt with any pack business. I was expected to act as the next Luna or Alpha. My father also taught me right along with my brother. Yes Mat is taking over the pack but my parents taught us how to lead and run our pack.” “I have never seen or heard of any pack teaching all of the Alpha children to lead. It's normally only who is taking over the pack.” Max said, shocked. “The Sky Falls believes that all of the high ranking pack members' children need to know how to do whatever their family’s state is. Knowing that we almost always are mated to another high ranked pack member whether it's in our pack or another.” I told him proudly.

‘Star, not many packs are as strong as our home pack.’ -D

‘I know. I just thought that some packs would take pride in having their leaders and their families. Having their high families ready at any time if they need to take a position up.’ -S

‘I know. Most packs only teach those who are taking over the pack.’ -D  

‘We need to change that now that we are their Queen.’ -S

  “Earth to Star.” Max says while waving his hand in front of my face. I look at him and laugh at the face he is making at me. “I’m sorry I was talking with Dakota. I was thinking that we need to make it law that all high ranking families need to teach all of their children how to lead.” Max walks out to our living room and sits on the couch in front of the fire palace. I come over and sit on his lap and he wraps his arms around me and his head into my neck. After a little while he lifts his head and tells me that he thinks it’s a great idea and we should get started on it. I kiss him then say thank you over and over between kisses.

  We head to the office to start our work for the day. When Max opens the door I am amazed at how beautiful it is. There is a desk on the left side of the room and one on the far wall of the office. On the right there is a couch and coffee table with floor to ceiling windows on both sides of it. There are two chairs in front of each desk. The color scheme is soft brown with gold and silver accents. “The desk to the left is your desk and mine is the one of the far wall.” “Wow this is bigger than my parents office.” I say in a daze. Max just chuckles and hugs from behind. He whispers “We look after a lot. We need the space for our Bata, Delta and Top warrior.” into my ear. “Who are all of the ranking members?” His eyes glaze over and the next minute there is a knock on the door. 

  I walked over to my desk as Max went to his. Then he yells for whoever is on the other side of the door to come in. Three males and two females walk in. “Babe, meet Josh our Bata and his mate Mascy the female Bata. On the left of them is Micheal our Delta and Cammy is mate and female Delta. On the right is Jackson our top warrior and he has yet to meet his mate.” Max introduced them all as he had said their names they bowed. I said hello to all of them then they left the office to go take care of their work. Once everyone leaves I look around my desk and what I have to work with. I found that there was already a stack of work already organized for me to do. When I opened the laptop that is my computer, I went through it to learn what is on it and what I need to use for my work. When I am done I start on my work as breakfast is brought up to us with the most delicious coffee I have ever had.

  We had been working so hard that I didn’t even realize that it was time for lunch. Until Cammy popped her head in and asked if we were going to join them in the dinning room for lunch. Both Max and I got up and followed her down to have lunch with the pack. I love that we sit on the same level as the rest of our pack. It really makes it feel like we are one big family. All around us you can have people laughing and having a good time with each other. A few of the pack members even come over and sit with us and have conversations about what's going on and they are happy to have me as their Luna as well as the Lunar Queen. I thank them and start to talk to them to get to know some of my new pack better. I have met a lot of them at the BBQ with my family's pack but I want to get to know my new pack just like I know my old pack.

‘Your really amazing Luna you know that. You already care for this pack and want what's close to them.’ -M

‘I’m now their Luna. I should know my people if I am going to help lead them.’ -S 

‘You are right you should get to know them. Would you like to go to training after lunch.’ -M

‘I would love to. It will give me a chance to see how well they are doing and maybe even help them out. I would love to help train the pups. It was one of my favorite things to do back home. It gives me a chance to bond with them.’ -S

‘I think that's a great idea. I will let Jackson know that we will be with him for this afternoon's training section. Let go get changed then head out.’ -M 

  After several hours in the training area I have seen quite a bit of how well trained the pack is. I also have a few things that we can work on. When I was working with the pups I learned who can be in the early warrior training program when they are 11. All of the pups were happy to have their Luna out working with them. It makes me happy to see how much the pack acts like one big family. They all work together to get jobs done and even help each other with improving their fighting skills. Once we were all done we headed to shower and change for dinner. At dinner I had a great time with the pack members. After dinner Max and I headed to bed for the night.
