Chapter 11

“If you want to stand here all day and lose daylight we could use to look for her..” He trails off and my body finally starts moving.

My father climbs in the car as I follow him in with Oni and Cedrick on my heels. My brothers sat on either side of me, making sure the dose of wolfsbane was enough to keep my Lycan from rampaging. I definitely didn’t want my father to find out this way. He told me when she turned eighteen to claim her, but I wanted to give her time. Having no wolf really upset her. I know because she poured her heart and soul out to me in our letters. I’ve always wanted to believe she was so upset she didn’t have a wolf because she was worried she wouldn’t know if I was her mate. That would be the simplest answer because she never really mentioned any men besides family members. She had two brothers she was very close to and it bothered me sometimes because I know there’s no blood tie between them. Sun, no Tempest has never spoken romantically of anyone. I like to believe she’s been flirting with me on paper because the goddess knew I had been flirting with her.

“I can send some of our agents out looking for your mate, son. They said it’s been a day or two since she's been gone so her lead can’t be that impressive.” My father says finally breaking the silence.

“Tempest.” Cedrick purrs her name like a lover and it pisses me off and causes a shiver to creep up my back. I growled at him and he smirks. Oni clears his throat and refocuses our attention.

“Tempest needs to be found. She’s lost a good amount of blood going by her clothes. Luce has told us she’s pretty independent, which is good and that will help keep her safe.”

“If we judge Tempest based on her mother I’d say the girl will conquer the humans in a matter of days. We just wait until they're all running in our direction begging us to pick up our prince’s tyrannical mate.” Cedrick purred her name again like he had some claim to it and I wanted to hit my beta in his smug face. Oni chuckled and patted my shoulder.

“I hope she’s like her mother because that woman’s power is a complete f*****g turn on. I had to bite my tongue to keep from asking her to spank me when she head butted Cedrick’s ass.” Oni howled with laughter and my father joined him. I snickered because the look of WTF!! was etched in every line of Cedrick’s face when Decora cracked his nose.

“That cougar she-wolf wants me.” Cedrick purred and we all started laughing.

“Wants you dead.” I mutter and they all chuckle again. My father waits till our laughter dies down and leans forward.

“She doesn’t know you’re Moon son. I think she just understood something bad was coming for her if her mothers hatred is any indication.”

I inhale hanging on to the hope I know he’s throwing me.

“She will write to me. I’ll get her to tell me where she is exactly and I’ll explain everything to her.” I damn near bit through my lip in excitement.

“Just be careful she doesn’t think it’s the bad guys trying to lure her out.” Oni said with a sigh and I understood what he’s saying. If I just blurt everything out she may think someone’s forcing Moon to write letters to her. That was another reason I wouldn’t let us use tall names as we wrote back and forth year after year. Someone would know the crown prince of the kingdom had a Lycan sized infatuation with a girl from a small pack. My enemies would flock to my mate either trying to kill her or use her, and it was not worth her life to know her name. I always knew that would come in time.

“Best thing for you boys to do is go back to school. Nothing you can do until we actually get some leads. I’ll see if I can get Tempest mother to give some sort of physical description. She might now that she knows we aren’t here to kidnap and r**e her daughter.” My father sounds like he wants to gag when he says the last sentence.

“I get her mother.” I tell him softly. “Tempest explained to me exactly how she and her mother met in painful detail. I won’t go into it but I’m telling you as Tempest mate it frustrates me her mothers help scare her but I also completely f*****g get it. Her mother is to be treated with gentle hands.” Oni nods and I know he must have picked up something in the woman’s head earlier that warned him.

“Well, I’ll work on getting some information together and you boys head back to Alpha U. If I hear anything out you get any letters, I’ll send everything to you immediately.” My father tells me as he leans over and grips my shoulder. “Trust me son, this is my future grand pups on the line. Your old man will not f**k this up.” He squeezes and I chuckle.

I’m now twenty eight and my father’s been chanting the word grandpups at me for two years now. I just wanted to wait for Tempest to ask me to come to her. If she asked me, I knew she’d never reject me even if I were a Lycan. I think she just always assumed I was a wolf and once I mentioned a vampire in a letter and she thought I was joking. She was a very sweet innocent girl with a backbone of steel. A complete and beautiful walking talking contradiction. It made her wildly fascinating to me and it never was the mate bond.

“Going back will at least kill time.” Oni offers and I just shrug.

I still wish like hell she would have been right here today. Standing on the steps just where I told her I’d meet her. The trunks of all ten vehicles were packed with my gifts to her. My pockets are full of her favorite chocolates. I had not come to kidnap my mate but to woo her. I wanted the romance I didn’t know would grow between us when this started. There were very few people I could be soft with but Tempest was the main one. Goddess it felt amazing just knowing her name finally, and it suited her perfectly. A crazy, chaotic, flash of soothing healing wind across my battered soul. My low purrs fill the car and Cedrick chuckles at me.

“Tempest.” He purrs and I growl at him. Oni shakes his head and leans back.

“Drop us at the door and I’ll have someone overnight with our luggage. Cedrick can get our asses through the gate tonight.”

Cedrick smirks and taps a long slender finger on his knee. “Do you think our roommates are back yet? That one alpha is like a little sweet cherub with his blonde curls and sparkling eyes.”

“I think he’s f*****g that brick wall of darkness alpha.” And both my brothers howl in laughter. That guy was enormous even for a wolf. Cedrick once asked if he was a twin and did he eat his other twin in utero. The brick wall glared at Cedrick for days after with those intense blue eyes of his. Cedrick tried avoiding the suite for days after the fact which Oni and I still laugh over.

“I wonder if they ever found themselves a gamma?” Oni asked out loud and honestly I didn’t even know they needed one.
