Chapter 36
I take a deep breath and run toward him. I ready my left fist and c*ck my arm. He moves back to avoid it, but he leaves his side open just as I hoped he would. I quickly switch to my right and make contact with his side. I see his body quake as my fist makes contact, and he folds into himself. I bring my knee up and connect with his face. His head flies back as he stumbles in the same direction. I advance again, my fist set to get his neck. Before I can connect, I take a shot to my chest and fall backward. My chest is throbbing, and my breathing is erratic. I look up too late and watch him land on me. He straddles me and starts to rain blows on both sides of my body. I find a way to cover my face and try to scrunch my body together to protect myself. I have to admit that his punches hurt l
