Chapter 21 Jesse straddled the kitchen chair, his arms resting on either side of the tall back, his hands cradling a cup of steaming tea. Gideon was still in bed, and Jesse would still be with him except for a parched, scratchy throat. Only the promise of tea could pull him from Gideon’s side, but he intended to return as soon as he finished his drink.
