The next morning, I began preparing breakfast for all of us. With one more added to our number, I now had to cook for her as well.

I rummaged through the fridge, trying to figure out what I could make that she’d be allowed to eat—or could even digest in her state. I didn’t want Roman to think I was deliberately ignoring her needs.
Still unsure, I decided to ask Roman directly. If he had something in mind, he couldn’t blame me afterward. Unfortunately, that meant going to her room as Roman was there.
