I charged my legs and went to raise my wings.
"Your wings and tail are severed."
Looking at my back, I saw three nubs of black flesh, them already regenerating, "really did get through at the last second, didn't I? Lemme guess send elemrgy, and they'll regenerate?" I sighed.
Shard began to form.
"Don't form you, i***t," I said, trying to keep my voice down, "if you show yourself, they'll know I haven't merged with you."
"Very well, though, why refer to elemental energy that way?"
"I don't want to give it its full name every time. Elemental energy, that's too many syllables for me."
"Fine, now hurry up; there are countless No-eyes here. You will not live if there is a fight."I could feel my wings and tail grow, "thanks for caring," I replied.
"Your safety is my safety," he answered in my mind.
I arched down and spread my large wings out, and I charged my wings and legs. One motion should take me up. I knew I wouldn't be able to fly out.
I sprung off with my legs and flapped my wings, and felt an intense vortex of wind swirl behind me. I flew right towards one of the open structures; my flap must have been wrong. I tried to get higher but crashed through instead and hit the floor. I could feel someone to my side, so I turned to see a standing red-haired girl with a game controller in hand.
"What the **** asshole," she said, before stepping back in fear, "my apologies, great one, please forgive me," she said, kneeling.
"I like this one," Shard said.
"Why are you here, my lord?" She said, looking up then narrowing her eyes, "you have no reason to be here, Mell, physical zone now."
I saw another stand and wave her hands coated pale orange, damnit, I thought when I felt my body go weak and fall to the ground, with only my arms holding my body up.
"He's delusional. Take him down where he can rest," I could barely make out the voice, and I swore I saw flesh form on the floor.
I was so close. I wouldn't let anything stop me. As I stood, the two staggered back with shaking bodies.
"How," one of them said, the other turning to leave.
"You can't stop me if you can't move," I raised my hand and focused on the legs around me. As if knowing they ran. I closed my fingers, and I saw them fall and scream in pain. The zone vanished and holding out my hand; I came back to my senses. "What have I done," I said, walking up to one of them, she shuffling away as I neared. "I'm so sorry," I said.
"Do not waste time; we need to leave. Now!"
I ran over to the edge and faced a Wyvern; I felt elmergy flow towards its mouth.I brought it down with a downwards thrust of my hand, but I sensed more closing in. I felt a laser soar behind me; I turned and fired a ball of soul-fire, the laser dispersing when struck.I climbed the outside of the structure and found myself surrounded by Dragons, "end this now," one of them said.
I raised my hands and held their bones in place; they grunted as they tried to move."This. Power," one of them said through a closed jaw.
"Just let me leave, please. IF ANYONE TRIES TO STOP ME, I'LL BREAK THEIR GOD DAMN BONES!" I could see them stay still.
"You do not have the power," one of them grunted.
"O, I'm sure I do. I only need to close my hands and every bone in your body. Now get me to the outside door. Please."
"Very well, I shall take you," one said. I was able to release my hold, and the Dragon flew down so I could stand on its back.
"Kinda thought who lot would try to fight back or talk me down," I said.
"If you want to go outside, then nothing we say can stop you. You have gained our stubbornness."
The Dragon flew me to a stairway tower, and I leapt off; it turned to fly away, but I held it once more, "and the way is unblocked, no one will stop me when I'm there?"
"You have my word," it answered.
"You can trust it," Shard said.
"And if it means anything, I wouldn't try to stop Enordial."
"But who will you fight when the time comes?"
"Those who would harm my father and any of this city," I said as I ran up the stairs. I had just given my objections out loud, so one of them might be aiming at my head.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------The Dragons flew down, "that was the Infinant child Shadagon sired. What happened, how did he get so damn powerful?" one of them asked.
"I sensed the energy of Bosolgon within him. That power on top of his, means he already has the power to break our bones. Even from that hold, I feel that some of my bones have become fractured."
A girl wearing black, smooth Synsis with long black hair walked up to them, "Caliran?" She asked.
"We need him."
The girl just shrugged her shoulders, "he'll come down in time, can't stay up there forever, so no point dealing with it. Just call the Shifters above and tell them not to confront him and to ensure no harm comes to him. They'll deal with me if that ever happens," with that, the girl walked off.She walked to her private room and opened a photo book with countless pictures, "it would be good to see you again. Caliran," she said, stroking the photograph of a child. "I want to know how strong you've become.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
A female fire Draan with long red hair, tail and large three-clawed wings awoke and rushed towards the Dragons, "who did this to you?" She asked as she crawled over their bodies and felt their limbs for a short time until she was thrown off. She rolled along the ground; I sensed a really high amount of magic, come on, did they do this to you? Where are they?"
"I should have known his presence would awaken you, Hyburdra," the earth and diamond Primordagon said as she released the skin turned to magma.
"Calm yourself, please," a plant Dragon asked as his body began to smoke; Hyburdra looked around and saw the ground turn to magma, and steam start to rise from a water Dragon.
"Sorry," she said, "right, calm, calm, just take their heat away," the area began to normalise, and the Draan slowed her movements along with her breathing. "Ok. What elements did he have? I'm pretty sure he's a Draan."
"Yes, he is the newest one Shadagon sired and has also received Bosolgon's blood."
Hyburdra murmured to herself and flicked her fingers, "yeah, that should start him off around my power level. Didn't he spend like around a hundred years training straight? Come on, where is he? O screw it, I can't stay calm when I'm this damn close to a proper magic battle." She squealed as fire coated her body.
"He went to the Surface," the earth Dragon said.
Hyburdra's face turned to shock, "th the Surface, the place that drains magic, my he's strong. Very well, this'll be the first round of our battle, see you can last the longest," she said as she soared up.---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Climbing the steps, I stood in front of a door and opened it. When I did, I collapsed, and my breathing became heavy. I saw my wings and tail droop and stay that way when I forced myself to stand as best as I could.
"I knew it; this place restricts elemental energy."
"Don't feel it. And I can't go back after that," I said as I walked through the room, animals stirred and sounding out. "Looks like this place is a meat store."
"Who's there," I heard a voice cry out, "help me, please."
The room was dark, and I couldn't sense my surroundings; there should be a light switch, I thought as I moved a pressed hand along the wall. When I couldn't move it, I flipped the switch.I saw the standard cows, pigs, chickens, and others I didn't recognise locked in grey cages, the same material as the walls. Farther in, I saw a slouched, near-n***d man chained to a pole by his arms. As I got closer, I saw him stir, trying to stand up, though I also noticed that spines covered parts of his arms and that they were tangled in brown synsis chains. He had large claws instead of fingers also.
"Get away from me, stop!" The Bioian yelled as he stood up, his brown hair long and green eyes crazed.
"I raised my hands and lowered my body, "it's ok, I'm not here to hurt you, ok. Who did this to you?" I asked.
"They captured and brought me here; they cut me up, let me regenerate and then do it all again. Please get me out of here before those people come back. Hurry."
I walked round to the chains around his arms and pulled, them not budging. "Damn brown synsis," I sighed.
"Do not charge your arm."
"Wasn't planning to," I said aloud.
"But you said you would help me!" The man cried as I searched the room.
I turned to him, "I am; I just have this fragment of a shadow Dragon living inside me which is how I look like this. He talks to me."
"What?" He asked.
"It's best if you don't question it," I said as I picked up a bone saw, I saw him squirm when I picked it up. "Why the hell is there a bone-saw? Oh god, what are they doing here? Has Walldurus gotten so bad we've resorted to cannibalism?"
"No," he said, "these places have been around since long before I was born; they're run by Shifters, for Shifters. They like their meat fresh. The ones who run this place kill people; I'm one of the Shifters against them. As you can tell, I'm not normal; I am a Variant-Shifter; I was born like this. As you can probably tell, I can't stay here, so I live in a hidden Shifter village. Ironic thing is that no one knows I'm here, and neither can I be smelt out.
I walked to the chains, and when the saw finally cut through, he got away from the pole and smoothed his spines but into place, "thank you," he said.
"Your welcome, so is that like Phyoians prefer meat to vegetables.
"Yeah, the slight elemental content irritates their stomach and makes them feel sick; it's even worse for Shifters.
"But you don't eat people. Do you?" I asked.
"We don't hunt them; we have a deal with a grave-house who gives us have some of their bodies. That's what makes us different from them. You know you could come with me; you'll be safe."
"Thanks for the offer, but I need to go back home. If you could tell me which sector we're in, I'll be on my way."
"We're in sector fifteen. But are you sure your family would accept you? If you've been away for a while, you could make them think you're dead."
"No!" I yelled, then covered my mouth, "no, my dad's good; I just want to be with him."
"Suit yourself," the Shifter said as he plucked up one of the chickens, "uhh, finally," he said as his claws transformed into a jaw and ate the chicken whole. I saw him proceed to eat every chicken insight; I could only watch on, "what, hey Shifters need to eat a lot, ok. And they kept me staving so I couldn't escape."
When finished, he walked to the door and raised his arm but stopped himself. Instead, he used one claw coated in something to cut the locks of the door.
He turned to face me, "well, if you change your mind, go to one of the outer sectors and find a meat store like this one. One which doesn't use live people for meat. See ya," he said as he tried to open the door, I walked up to help him. "No, I'm good," he as said as I saw average arms grow from his chest, turn the handle and pull the door open. He stepped into the darkness.
"Hey," he stepped back, "what's your name?" I asked.
"Torin, pleasure to meet you. For obvious reasons. And what of you?"
"Caliran and I think you and your village should start training and hard. Cus like an army is coming to kill all of us."
"We already are, but I'll pass on the message."
"They'll be elemental beings, those with attacks you're weak against."
"No offence, but if they're anything like you, I think we'll be good."
"No, something is gonna happen which'll let them walk here and use their powers. And they'll be physical beings as well, really strong ones.
"A those'll be a problem, but we'll fight back; thanks for the warning. Just another threat we have to deal with. Can they create physical zones? That's the main thing I need to know.""Yes, but wouldn't that make you stronger if it weakens me?"
"They do, but the thing is, our levels would stay the same, and their might would overpower ours, and they would kill us, so we need to be able to form stronger physical zones than theirs to stand a chance. What did they look like."
"They come in all kinds of shapes and sizes, but they all have no eyes," I closed my eyes.
"Need to sleep; you look tired?" Torin asked.
"No, I have access to ancient Dragon's knowledge; if it knows, I know, and it's with the one who wants to kill us all, so it should."
I concentrated; images and voices flashed in my mind's eye.
"They're called Chemeran or just Chimeras; once Shifters, they now have Monster bodies as their natural state, can sense their environment and have levels unachievable by Shifters. They can access all biological elements and have fine-tuned might control; they can even rearrange their mass on top of near-limitless stamina. An immortals life of experience and retain a high level of intelligence." When I opened my eyes, Torin was in shock.
"Ok, we can't fight them; we need elemental entities; surely there are some who can help us. Even as you are, I can feel your power pressing against my might. Maybe you could get them to help us?"
I flustered and swayed, "I just want to play video games and watch anime; there's one who gave me her blood to bring me back. She's going to get them together to help us. And there are weaker ones to the Chimeras, if that helps.
"Well, if you only have a fraction of their power, I'm sure they'll be a big help. Right, I really have to go now, got kids at home. I'll tell everyone to train hard, Torin said as he walked off in the night.
"Was that necessary?"
"Yeah, I told him he and his village needs to get even stronger."
"You did not need to know his name, and I am sure that they are already training as hard as they can."
I walked through the door, "right if we're..."
"Hide."
