I sat down beside him and gestured to Kimmie, the bartender, that I didn’t want a drink. She noted Shiloh sitting beside me and the somber look on my face but didn’t ask. “You showed.” Shiloh said when he noticed me sitting beside him. Looking at his glass, I knew he had a few drinks and that sure as hell wasn’t going to help. “You have five minutes,” I said flatly. “And do not come to my store harassing me or my staff, got it?” My sternness seemed to amuse Shiloh and, of course, it would. I never had a backbone when he and I were together. He called the shots and I followed him blindly. “Got it.” He smirked, holding his hands up in surrender. “I’m serious.” I scoffed. “You shouldn’t have come here, and you’re not welcome.” “Well, the sign coming into Verity Falls says otherwise.”
