Chapter Seven

I heard a knock on the front door, right as I finished my last bite of spaghetti. Gabby stood up to go answer the door. I followed. Gabby turned right out of the dinning room, and walked into an entry-way that was next to the big living room. Before I could take in my surroundings, Gabby opened the door to reveal my parents on the front porch. She stepped back, and gestured for them to come inside. "Hi, you two must be Kiley's parents." Mom hurried over to me, and wrapped her arms tight around me. I was only a couple of inches taller than Nora. I hugged her back. "I am so glad you are okay, let me look at you." She took a small step back, and grabbed my hands. She stared intently at the bandages on my arms, and she frowned when she saw the scratches on my face.  I looked over to see my dad talking with Gabby. "...I saw her truck as we walked up to the door. I can't thank you enough for taking care of our daughter." My dad said, holding Gabby's small hand in his own.  I walked to my dad and he let go of Gabby's hand to wrap his arms around me.  "Kiley-Ann, please don't ever scare us like that again."  "I'll try my best, Daddy-en." I said, and laid my head against his chest. My dad was a bit taller than me, and still muscular despite his age. His red hair had no gray. He was lucky to not have a single gray hair on his head. "Are you two hungry, there is plenty of spaghetti left." Gabby told my parents after Dad let me go.  Mom walked up to Gabby, "Can I hug you, please? I am so extremely grateful for you and your family." Gabby smiled and hugged my mom. Seeing those two similar women hug, made my smile. I wish I had my camera in my hands to capture this moment.  I heard Gabby's voice, "Not a problem, I am just happy that my daughter was able to stop and help Kiley." My mother stepped back from Gabby, "Is your daughter here, the one who saved Kiley? Can I hug her too?" Gabby let out a light laugh, "yes, she is right through here." She led my mother into the dinning room.  Dad took my hand to keep me from following after them, "Are you sure you are safe? Do you think they know anything?" My dad said, his voice low.  "I am okay. I am positive they don't know anything." I replied, keeping my voice down as well. My dad gave a slight nod, and followed after my mom. I walked into the dinning room and saw my mom let go of Louisa, there were tears in my mom's eyes. I rolled my eyes. My mom can be a little too emotional.  "Gabby, Louisa, and Mia, these are my parents, Ben and Nora. Mom and dad, that's Gabby, Louisa, and Mia." I made the introductions. My mom gave me a smile to let me know she approved of my manners. My dad walked up to Louisa and opened his arms. Louisa gave him a small smile and hugged him back.  "Thank you for stopping and getting my daughter out of that truck. You have no idea how grateful her mother and I are." My dad said.  Louisa gave my dad's back a small pat, and stepped out of his arms. "Like I told your wife, I'm just glad I could help." Louisa turned towards me, and smiled, "Do you need a hug too?" I laughed at her. I think she was right about how her and I could be best friends, we both liked to be a little snarky. I shook my head, "Nah, I'm good for now, I'll take a rain check." Mom and Dad both walked back over to stand next me. "I think we should get your stuff, and get out of these nice people's way." My dad said. I nodded and was about to lead him to the small bedroom, when we all heard the front door open, and slam shut.  Mica's voice reached us, right before he entered into the dinning room, "Mom whose car is that in the drive way?"  I saw Mica's nose twitch, and he let out a roar, "MOM, WHY ARE THERE f*****g HUMANS HERE?!" He suddenly started shifting. Shit, he's a shifter. The thought entered my head, right before I shifted into my tiger form to protect my parents. I was on all fours in front of my parents before Mica had finished shifting into a big, brown wolf. Another perk about being the legendary three-form shifter is being seconds faster than every other shifter on the planet. Mica stepped back once he saw me, a huge Siberian tiger, snarling at him, in front of my parents. Gabby, Louisa, and Mia all came running around the table to stand in between Mica and I.  Gabby's normally soft, sweet voice was loud and firm, "Stop it right now, both of you." She turned to look right at Mica, "Mica Skolt, you shift back, right this instant! How dare you threaten people in my home! It does not matter who or what they are. The fact that I invited them into my home should be enough reason for you to respect them." I didn't move an inch. There was no way in hell I was going to shift back into my body before he did. I would protect my parents until my dying breath. All of us were tense, waiting to see what Mica would do.  I heard him huff, and saw his eyes close. A minute later, he was standing in front of us naked. He put his jeans back on, and then his shirt. He just stood there with his hands in his front pockets, glaring at my parents.  I closed my eyes, and made myself shift back into my human body. My dad stepped in front of me to block my naked body. I knelt to grab my clothes. I quickly slipped on my jeans, put my bra on, and slid my sweater over my head. I stepped out from behind my dad's back, and narrowed my eyes at Mica, "You're an asshole..." Mia's gasp stopped my outburst, "Kiley, your eyes are silver!" Louisa, Gabby, and Mica all looked at me with open mouths.  Gabby put her hand over her heart, "Are you a three-form shifter?" Well, s**t. Now what do I do?
