Insanity In The Storm

Khan expected things to calm down after the interview, but the universe had other plans. The media was obsessed with their love story now. Every public appearance, every glance they shared, every time Liam so much as opened a car door for her—it was analyzed, dissected, and turned into headlines. And Harold? He had gone quiet. Too quiet. Which meant he was planning something. One evening, Khan and Liam were returning from an event when they found Vivian waiting in the penthouse. Liam’s aunt stood with her arms crossed, her sharp eyes scanning them both as they stepped inside. "Well, well," she drawled, "if I didn’t know better, I’d say you two are actually enjoying this marriage." Liam sighed, rubbing his temple. "Vivian, it’s late." Vivian ignored him, turning her gaze to Khan. "Harold isn’t done with you yet." Khan stiffened. "I figured as much." Vivian hesitated, then softened slightly. "Be careful, Khan. He doesn’t like losing." Khan swallowed. She knew Vivian was trying to warn her—maybe even protect her. But what was Harold planning? And more importantly… Was she ready for it? The answer came sooner than expected. The very next morning, the news broke. A leaked prenup. Khan stared at the headlines in shock. "EXPOSED: Liam Carter’s Wife Signed a Contract for Their Marriage!" Attached was a photo of the actual document. Khan felt the blood drain from her face. This was bad. Really bad. Liam stood beside her, his jaw clenched so tight it looked painful. "Harold," he muttered. "It has to be him." Khan swallowed hard. "How did he even get it?" Liam exhaled sharply. "He has connections everywhere." Khan’s hands trembled as she scrolled through the article. The media wasn’t holding back. People were calling their entire relationship a scam. Liam paced the room. "We need to fix this. Fast." Khan took a shaky breath. "How?" Liam stopped, turning to face her. And then, as if making a split-second decision, he stepped closer. "By doing something Harold will never expect." Khan blinked. "Which is…?" Liam’s gaze held hers. "Making this marriage real." Her breath hitched. "Liam—" "Marry me again," he said, voice steady. "Publicly. A real ceremony. No contracts. No business deals. Just us." Khan’s heart slammed against her ribs. This was dangerous. This was insane. And yet… As she looked into Liam’s eyes, she knew one thing for sure. Harold thought he had won. But he had underestimated them.
