Melting!

The morning of the wedding was chaos. Stylists, planners, and photographers filled the penthouse, buzzing around Khan as if she were some kind of royalty. She barely had time to process anything before she was whisked into a chair, layers of makeup being applied, her hair styled into something elegant but effortless. The dress—a masterpiece of delicate lace and silk—hung waiting in the next room. And through it all, her mind was a mess. Not just because of the wedding. Not just because she would be standing in front of hundreds of guests and millions watching at home. But because of last night. Because of Liam. Because of the way he had looked at her, the way his voice had dropped when he told her she wasn’t just a contract anymore. Her heart hadn’t stopped racing since. "Khan!" Sophie’s voice snapped her out of her thoughts. She turned to find her best friend standing in the doorway, hands on her hips, eyebrows raised. "Soph?" Khan blinked. "What are you doing here?" Sophie scoffed, stepping inside. "Excuse me? You’re getting married in less than three hours, and you thought I wasn’t going to be here?" Khan smiled—genuinely smiled—for the first time all morning. Sophie Hart had been her rock for years. The one person who had stood by her through everything. She should have known Sophie wouldn’t miss this. Sophie’s eyes narrowed as she took in Khan’s expression. "Okay. Spill. You look like you’re about to pass out." Khan hesitated. Then, in a low voice, she said, "Sophie… I think I might actually be in love with him." Sophie froze. Her eyes widened. "Wait. What?" Khan swallowed, gripping the edge of the vanity. "I don’t know when it happened. Or how. But it’s not fake anymore. Not for me." Sophie stared at her for a long moment. Then she sighed. "Oh, honey." Khan exhaled shakily. "What do I do?" Sophie placed a hand on her shoulder. "Do you think he feels the same?" Khan’s mind flashed back to last night. To the way Liam had looked at her. To his words. "I… I don’t know." Sophie squeezed her shoulder. "Then you need to find out." By the time Khan arrived at the venue, the world was waiting. The chapel was breathtaking. Floor-to-ceiling glass windows, white roses everywhere, a soft golden glow from the chandeliers above. And at the end of the aisle… Liam. Standing there in a crisp black suit, hands folded in front of him, eyes locked onto her. Khan’s breath caught. He looked… Devastating. She barely noticed the cameras flashing, the guests watching, the world holding its breath. Because right now, it was just him. And maybe… maybe this wasn’t just a game anymore. Maybe it never had been. When she reached him, Liam didn’t let go of her hand. The ceremony started. The officiant spoke. The vows were exchanged. And then came the moment. The moment when the words sealed everything. "You may kiss the bride." Liam stepped closer. Khan’s heart pounded. This was it. The moment where everything would change. And then—he kissed her. Soft. Slow. Too real. When he pulled away, his gaze burned into hers. And that was the moment she knew. She was completely, hopelessly, in love with her husband.
