Elyn pulled her coat tighter around her shoulders, her boots splashing through shallow puddles as she made her way to her favorite café—a quiet corner of the city where time seemed to slow. The scent of freshly brewed coffee drifted through the air as she pushed open the door, the small bell above it chiming softly. Inside, the world felt warmer, safer. The hum of distant conversations mixed with the soft jazz playing in the background, and the familiar sight of her usual table by the window brought a small sense of relief. She settled in, placing her notebook beside her coffee, watching as raindrops traced uncertain paths down the glass. She always found inspiration in days like these—the kind where the world outside blurred into something almost dreamlike. Elyn flipped open her notebook, absently tapping her pen against the blank page. Ideas swirled in her mind, yet none settled long enough to take shape. She sighed, taking a slow sip of her coffee, letting the warmth spread through her. Outside, the rain had deepened into a steady downpour, painting the streets with golden reflections from the lamplights. The café was quieter than usual—just a few regulars lost in their own worlds. That was one of the reasons she loved this place. It was a sanctuary, a space where stories could breathe. The door opened with a rush of cold air, and she looked up instinctively. A man stepped in, shaking droplets from his dark coat. He carried a camera slung over his shoulder, his fingers brushing against it as if it were second nature. He glanced around before choosing the seat directly across from her. Elyn lowered her gaze, pretending to focus on her notebook, but she could feel his presence—the quiet kind that carried a sense of intrigue. Moments passed before he spoke. "You always sit here?" His voice was smooth, laced with curiosity. She hesitated, then nodded. "It’s my favorite spot." He smiled, setting his camera on the table. "Then I guess I chose the right place."......
