Chapter 5:The beginning of my Shattered marriage

Rowan stood there, trying to process what had just happened, he rushed immediately and left for the hospital where Mr. Lucas was.
I followed him, I didn't understand what had happened.
At the hospital, “Doctor! Doctor!!!” Rowan yelled, tears following from his eyes.
I held his hands but he removed it, “What's wrong babe?” I asked, showing concern.
Rowa didn't utter a word, rather he gazed at me furiously.
Doctor Adam walked into the reception,his face sad, his eyes filled with pity as he stared at both of us.
“What is happening?” I asked myself trying to comprehend what was going on.
Doctor Adam's voice trembled as he spoke “Your father was brought dead already, the police said it was an accident caused by the brake of the car.”
My heart felt like it was shattering into pieces, I fell on the floor confused “ who died? My Dad, No! My father in-law!? How is that possible.”
Tears streamed down my cheeks like the flow of an ocean.
Rowan froze, his breath seized as he states at Doctor Adam.
“No! This can happen! I can't be the only one in this world!” Tears dropped from his left eyes.
I picked up myself to console him but Rowan felt irritated.
“You chose the car my dad used! Why didn't you notice it had a brake issue? Or is this your plan to kill my dad and take over the Company??” His voice rose in anger.
I felt lost, I couldn't understand what was happening “Are you blaming me? You know how dad…..:
“He is not your Dad Shirley!” Rowan yelled at me.
For the first time since we got married Rowan called me “Shirley”
My heart shattered, my mind racing as I went inside to see the body of Mr. Lucas, tears streamed down my eyes and then I yelled unknowingly “whoever is doing this to me?? Should come face me!”
Rowan burted into the room staring at me confused “Doing what Shirley?”
“Mmmmmmm…..I meant…..”
Mr. Mark walked into the room “ you both are here. We have to find out who did this. You both should put yourself together.”
Immediately, I saw a man talking to my mum. The exact thing I saw when I went to Mr. Mark's house.
I stared at him while he gave me an intense look, which made me shiver.
“Shirley, you have to be careful.” Mr. Mark said as he pat my back and left.

Two weeks later, “Shirley! Shirley!!” Rowan screamed my name.
“Where are you???”
I came running to him “What baby?”
Rowan gazed at me intensely while he yelled “Don't you ever call me baby!”
“I will be leaving and I won't be back until tomorrow.” He said.
I felt a little piece of me had been broken, I gazed at him innocently as I asked “Where are you going too?”
Rowan kept mute while he went to pick his call.
His face lit with a smile, I couldn't give him this past few weeks.
He smiled all through the call until Jessica, his ex-girlfriend, showed up.
“Rowan! Rowan!!! What is she doing here???” I raised my voice.
Rowan kept mute and entered his car while they drove out.
I felt like the world was coming to an end, so I rushed into my room to call my sister. And she picked up.
Tears rolling down my eyes, my voice shaky and cracking “ Jennifer, Rowan just left me now! Since his dad died in an accident….”
“What!!!! Mr. Lucas is dead??” Jennifer screamed.
“Yha…” Jennifer Interrupted me “why didn't you let me know?”
Tears still rolling down my cheeks “I forgot and …… Rowan told me not to let anyone know for now….”
“Even I???” Jennifer asked.
I sniffed trying to breathe fine “I didn't remember, too many things have been going on this past week. Sincerely, Mr. Lucas is out of our plan now. He isn't the person.”
“Rowan has changed Jennifer.” I said while my eyes produced more Tears.
“It is okay but I warned you. How can you fall in love with Rowan? You caused this upon yourself Shirley. Be fine okay? If you think you are not comfortable. Please come home.” Jennifer said as she consoled me while she hung up.
Later that evening, I wanted to go to bed. I heard the doorbell ring.
“Who is there?” I rushed down to check who it was but shockingly I saw Rowan lying on the floor drunk and wasted.
The odor from his body couldn't let me breathe.
Rowan managed to get up as he staggered to the chair. “Let me be Shir-ley!”
“You can't even give me children”.
At this point, I got irritated and upset and I went to bed leaving him in the sitting room.
I felt a surge of pain in my heart, I didn't sleep as I turned around on the bed.
I had no option than to go check after him because all the staffs were asleep.
“Rowan hasn't been like this.” I muttered to myself, giving myself some reassurance.
On getting to the sitting room, he was drowning in sleep. I carried him with his hands as I staggered to the room where he would take his bath.
I cleaned him up and took him to the bed, but a message from Rowan's phone caught my attention.
“Shirley, your beloved wife is with an important document which led to your dad's death and which she stole weeks ago. Here is the video evidence.”
My heart skipped a beat “What documents? What video evidence?.”
My breath knocked out of me, then Rowan's words kept flooding my thoughts. “ You choose my dad's car, has this been your plan?.”
At this point, I was cold.
