A lot of things changed in the orphanage because a man has been giving a charity fund and helping the kids a lot. Ava explained all the details to Amira, who kept nodding after getting into their room, which was different from the one they used back then. Amira yawned loudly; the bed was foamy and comfortable. Within a few minutes, her eyes shut slowly as she drifted to sleep. "I even heard that this man was also an orphan in this home before getting adopted by the rich family named...."Ava stopped talking when she noticed that Amira had gone far into the sleeping realm. With a smile on her face, she covers Amira with a blanket before heading out. When Ava got out of the room, she saw Miss Violet waiting for her in the hallway. "How is she?" Ava sighed with her eyes teary. "I guess she has been through a lot." She blinked back the tears and continued. "I knew how vibrant Amira is; she is always lively whenever we make gist. But now, she was sleeping when I didn't get to the middle of the gist" When Ava would finish speaking, the tears rolled down her cheeks. Miss Violet sighs and pulls Ava into a hug. "Everything is fine! I'm happy that she didn't run away and come back home instead. I didn't expect her to hold out there for this long, she is indeed strong" In her years of experience, Miss Violet knows a lot about what going into a rich family looks like. Sometimes, it might be fun, and it might not, as the feelings vary. She was surprised when Amira was able to survive three years in that prominent family. "Do you think Amira will return to the cheerful friend I knew of?" Ava asked amid her hiccoughing breath. "Of course she is! Although she might be showing some strange attitude in the early stages, she will be fine!" When Ava heard early stage, her eyes widened, but Miss Violet covered her mouth. "We know nothing!" As the weeks passed, Amira began to share bits and pieces of her story with Miss Violet and Ava. They were supportive, offering her comfort and reassurance during the early stages of her pregnancy. But even with their kindness, Amira couldn’t shake the feeling that she was becoming a burden. She hated relying on them, especially when the orphanage already had limited resources. One night, as she lay awake, Amira made up her mind. She needed to work, not just to support herself and her baby, but to regain a sense of independence. She wouldn’t tell Miss Violet or Ava yet; she knew they’d insist she focus on her health. But she couldn’t bear to sit idly any longer. She wasn't made for laziness and she can always prove her strength no matter her situation. Beside her, Ava was fast asleep. Like fate, the two friends still share rooms after years. The next morning came so quickly that Ava was already out of the room to look out for the kids. Amira woke up to look at her little grown tummy and a faint smile appeared on her lips. "I need to work, baby. By the time you arrive in this world, Mom will have the money to take care of you. You live a poor life like me, I don't want to feel sorry for you when you arrive. Huh? Please endure with me, and let's work while you are still in here." Amira rubbed her tummy and left for the bathroom. It's time to take action. While Miss Violet and Ava were busy with the children, Amira slipped out of the orphanage and wandered through the bustling streets of Amador City. She knew her options were limited, few places would hire a pregnant woman with no formal qualifications. But she was determined to try. After hours of searching, Amira’s feet brought her to the doors of a famous establishment: The Classic Brado Just as the name stated, the restaurant was classic and it belongs to the Brandon family. There is also a classic vacancy board placed outside with a statement boldly written in black marker. *CLEANER NEED* The gleaming glass windows reflected her nervous expression, but she pushed the doors open anyway. "Welcome Miss.." the lady at the reception shot Amira a disdainful look when she saw her dress. She doesn't appear as someone who can afford the classic restaurant. "Dear lady, come back later. The leftovers will be ready by then" The lady thought Amira was one of the people who came to beg for leftovers but Amira's response was her surprise "I'm not a beggar; I came to inquire about the vacancy board outside," Amira explained. The lady scoffed, it was unbelievable for a pregnant woman to work if not because the unborn child was rejected. The lady planned to make use of her power and bully Amira, but the manager showed up. "What is happening here? Our VIPs are around!" The manager, a stern-looking man named Mr. Harris, raised an eyebrow when Amira stepped into his office. “You’re here for a job? As a waitress?” he asked, glancing skeptically at her modest clothes and her growing belly. He heard Amira's conversation with Julianna and could figure out what Amira wanted. “No, sir,” Amira replied quickly. “I’d like to apply as a cleaner. I’m hardworking and reliable. I just... I need a chance.” Mr. Harris studied her for a long moment before nodding. “We’re short-staffed in the cleaning department. It’s not glamorous, but it’s consistent work. If you can manage it, the job is yours.” Amira’s heart soared. “Thank you, sir. I’ll do my best.” So easy! Amira almost screams as she walks happily back to the orphanage home. She is going to start working soon and save a lot of money for her child. At least, she needs to know how old is her baby and the gender.
