Lucas's POV
One moment she is here, then she just disappears.
Her warm, soft lips are on mine, then she becomes limp in my arms and falls back.
Jake jumps up and is on her in the blink of an eye, even though I would never have let her fall. I can't help the groan that leaves me. I'm not sure why. Maybe it's from disappointment, annoyance, anger, or frustration. It could be them all.
"Well, at least she has eaten!" Jake mumbles as he strokes her hair and tucks in some strands on the run behind her ear.
"Yay," I mocked, looking him in his eyes.
He just shrugs and smiles at me. It's like he can't be upset by anything nowadays.
But I know she says no to him now and then. I don't know why. Maybe it's because of me?
