""What do you mean you don't accept? Did you think I was asking you arrogant, insufferable, alpha!", Aleah all but screamed.
"Well, I thought you were weak, I thought you didn't like fighting?" was the smug reply from Alpha Ultra Alec as if that negated his rejection.
"I don't, but nobody hurts what is mine and Madeline is the only one who is nice." Aleah snarled feeling her wolf begin to surface. " Would you have me leave a child to be killed, because my mate rejected me you selfish bastard. Just go I'll return to the pack house later."she breathed out feeling disgusted by her mate at the moment.
"Your right Aleah" Alec said "I didn't place the proper value on peace, I have aloud my packs to fall into quarrels, I am the leader but have not led, I apologize. I will leave but will you consider giving me a chance to change? You don't have to answer now!" he hurried to say worried that she would say no. It hurt to see his mate wanted nothing to o with him, and worse knowing he had done that. He at that time deserved her disgust, he hoped she could forgive him, if she did he knew his days of nobody calling his bull were over, "How odd you don't seem sorry," thought Keith, his wolf. "Indeed" he chuckled.
Aleah sat quietly crying over the dead rouges. "Why do we cry?" asked Lillith for although she was Omega, she was wolf and death is part of life to wolves. "We didn't have to kill them." Aleah tells her.
"We did actually," Lillith said, " they would have killed Maddie." Aleah burst out laughing," Don't let her hear you call her that, we should get these guys burried."
Alec had stayed close and watched as his mate shifted and began to dig. Surly she wasn't going to give ROUGES a proper burrial? As he watched Keith asked him mildly, " and why not were they not once part of our packs?"Suddenly ashamed Alec walked out and asked Aleah "Would you mind if we helped you dig?"
Aleah looked up surprised at the question directed at her. Seeing Alec looking ashamed as he looked at the bodies, she shrugged her shoulders, and replied "Why not?" Lillith wanted to know why he suddenly wanted to help. Aleah did too, but she would cut out her own tongue before giving him the satisfaction of asking him. At least he was actually digging not just watching her dig.
Alec could feel her curiosity and realizing suddenly that he knew enough to know she wouldn't ask he said," I realized that they were once part of my packs, if I had been a little more like you they might not be here dead now."
Aleah looked at him for a moment, taking a deep breath she said " maybe, maybe not though. The thing is they are old enough to know better, they made the choice. You could say what if but it does nothing. Focus on the ones you have left, leave the past with the grave."
Alec looked at her, "Will you have dinner with me?"
"Why not?"
