CHAPTER 8

"BELOVED BY THE TWINS"

When Shin arrived at school he felt the familiar weight of stares and whispers bearing down on him. It had become a regular part of his life since rumors began circulating that he was gay and that someone saw him making out with a guy. Though the rumors were exaggerated and not entirely true, the fact that he was gay was accurate. He was angry at the fact that the rumors say that he is making out with a guy when in reality he was innocent and never had any experience. The gossip quickly escalated and with it came a wave of bullying.

Shin was never sure who started the rumors or why they chose to target him but the result was the same intense bullying and harassment. At first, it was just cruel words and snickers behind his back. But over time things got worse. Fellow students began physically hurting him and despite his pleas for help the teachers ignored his suffering. The lack of support from school authorities made the situation even more unbearable.

Walking through the school corridors, Shin couldn’t help but feel a pang of anger and sadness. The memories of the past months weighed heavily on him. But today he tried to focus on the positive. The thought of going home and preparing a meal for Ruka and Luca gave him a small sense of comfort and purpose. Their support was a bright spot in his otherwise difficult life.

As Shin entered his classroom, the whispers and stares intensified. He could hear snippets of conversation about him, but he tried to ignore it as always.

The words written on his chair are things like “disgusting”, "faggot" and “ you should just disappear” were harsh but Shin had learned to shield himself from their impact. He took his seat and focused on the lesson determined not to let the negativity affect him too much.

The day dragged on painfully slow. Each class felt like an eternity and the whispers and occasional sneers from his classmates were relentless. Shin did his best to stay focused reminding himself that he only had a few more hours until he could go home. The thought of preparing dinner for Ruka and Luca kept him going, giving him something to look forward to.

Finally, the bell rang signaling the end of classes. Shin felt a surge of relief as he packed his things. He was eager to leave, to escape the hostile environment and head home. But as he made his way to the exit he noticed a group of students huddled together whispering and snickering. A sense of dread settled over him knowing that something was coming.

As he stepped out of the classroom, a large amount of cold water poured down on him. The unexpected act left him soaked through his clothes sticking to his body. The laughter from the group of students who had set up the prank echoed around him. Shin felt a wave of sadness and frustration but he tried to stay calm. He had grown accustomed to their cruel games even if they still hurt.

Ignoring the laughter and the taunts, Shin continued walking toward the school gate. His thoughts were consumed with the idea of going home and finding solace in the company of Ruka and Luca. He just wanted to leave the school behind if only for a few hours.

As he approached the gate, he overheard snippets of conversation from the students around him. “there are two really good-looking guys waiting outside,” one student said, her voice filled with excitement.

“Yeah, and they’re driving a fancy car,” another added.

“Who are they?” a third student wondered, peering out of the window.

"Maybe they are models" another added.

"Who are they waiting for" the other girl replied.

“They must be with someone,” another girl said. “Maybe they’re waiting for their girlfriends?”

One of the students, looking slightly dejected commented, “With looks like that, it’s hard to believe they don’t have girlfriends.”

Shin’s heart skipped a beat as he realized that the students might be talking about Ruka and Luca. He glanced outside and saw the twins standing by the gate surrounded by a group of girls. They looked strikingly handsome and their presence seemed to draw a lot of attention.

“Oh no, it really is them,” Shin muttered to himself, feeling a mix of embarrassment and worry. He was still drenched from the water prank and he didn’t want to draw any more attention to himself. He decided to take another route to avoid the crowd of students.

But before he could change his path, Ruka’s voice rang out. “Shin! Shin, over here!” Ruka was waving enthusiastically, his smile wide and inviting.

The group of girls around the twins turned to look, their expressions ranging from surprise to curiosity. Shin felt a flush of embarrassment as he noticed their gazes shifting from him to the twins and back again.

The twins made their way through the crowd, their concern evident as they approached Shin. Ruka’s smile faded into a look of worry when he saw how wet Shin was.

“What happened to you?” Luca asked, his voice filled with genuine concern.

“It’s nothing,” Shin replied, trying to brush it off. “Just… an accident.”

"Wear this" Ruka said while giving his jacket to Shin.

Luca and Ruka exchanged a glance, clearly not buying Shin’s explanation but deciding not to press further. They guided him to their car and as they drove away from the school the students watched in shock. The sight of Shin, accompanied by the attractive twins left many of them stunned.

Once they were home, Shin quickly changed out of his wet clothes and joined Ruka and Luca in the kitchen. They had prepared a simple but comforting dinner and the atmosphere in the house was warm and relaxed. The troubles of the day seemed to fade away as they shared the meal and chatted about their day.

“So, how was school today?” Ruka asked, trying to keep the mood light.

“It was okay,” Shin replied quietly. “Just the usual.”

Luca frowned slightly. “You don’t have to put up with that kind of treatment,” he said gently. “We’re here for you and we won’t let anyone hurt you.”

Shin felt a surge of gratitude. The support from Ruka and Luca meant the world to him. He nodded appreciating their concern though he struggled to find the right words to express his thanks.
