Evil Boss

Hannah’s Point of View Brushing my palms against my face, I let out a deep sigh as I played on the pen in my hand. I’m not just frustrated or problematic right now, I’m both! I threw the pen away and bowed my head on my table before I felt a tap on my shoulder. “Hannah, what are you doing? Are you sleeping?” I slowly lifted my head and sadly stared at Lanie. Her brows were furrowed, questionably looking at me. “Why?” she asked, shrugging. I pointed my index finger at my stained blouse, and that’s only when she realized it. “Oh, God! What happened?!” I click my tongue as I shake my head. “You didn’t tell me you have a demon boss,” I murmured, arranging the bunch of papers on my table. “Oh, no, it didn’t go well, did it?” I looked at my stained blouse and anger just began to fill me. He asked me to get him a cup of coffee. I know I wasn’t good at making them, but I’m sure that taste is just acceptable. He said he didn’t like the way his coffee was done so he splashed it all over me. “Don’t you have extra clothes?” “Do you?” I asked her back. Lanie timidly smiled before shaking her head. It’s my first time here so I didn’t bring any extra clothes. And besides, I thought her boss was really good and nice, based on what Lanie told me! But I guess he has different treatments from different workers. “He’s totally different from what he is based on your story,” I groused. Today’s my first day in training, and Lanie strictly told me to do my utmost best within one week because her boss, will decide to accept me or not within my week’s performance. And when I say, I’m trying my best, I really mean it. “So, it’s my fault now.” “Exactly, it’s your fault,” I chuckled, shaking my head. I deeply exhaled, twitching my lips. I don’t think I can have this job anymore. My boss just blew out angry at me. And who would be hiring a secretary who can’t even make his coffee right? “Come on, girl. It’s your first day! Stop nagging and continue your work because you are by yourself now.” “Yes, I know. I have no idea living alone would be like this.” “Oh, right! No more rich life, Hannah.” Lanie and I were both quietly chuckling as she stood in front of my desk while I was seated on my swivel chair, until a rough man’s voice echoed. “Hannah!” Hearing his angry voice, I immediately get up to my feet. “Y-yes, Sir?” I nervously stammered as I walked towards him. Everyone’s eyes drifted on us before they start gossiping to each other. “Are you really just useless or simply stupid?!” My eyes widened in shock with his sudden statement. I licked my dried lips as I played with my fingers. I have no idea what to say to that. He just insulted me! “I have an important meeting coming up at four in the afternoon, and you never mind to remind me of that.” His eyes were on his wristwatch while his brows were heavily furrowed. “So, what now?! I’m already getting late!” “I-I’m sorry, Sir, but I haven’t gotten your schedule from Lanie yet,” admitted. “And? Do you think that’s my problem?!” “No, Sir, I didn’t even blame you, but what I’m saying is that---” ”And you still have the guts to reasoned at me!” he shouted, cutting me off. Lanie chimed in, “Uh, Sir, Hannah was right. She doesn’t have your schedule yet.” “Then, why don’t you give it to her instead of blaming me?!” “I believed I’ve placed it on your table, Sir.” And he was suddenly muted. I firmly bit my lower lip to stop myself from laughing out loud. He got out of his office, then yelled at me for not reminding him of his meeting, and yet he already has his schedule. Perhaps after realizing that it was his fault, he somehow calmed down. He left and only told me to prepare myself because he will bring me with his meeting instead of Lanie. A few seconds had passed, and he came out of his office. Holding my bag with my hand and a folder with my other hand, I followed him. I was standing behind him as we reached the elevator, and he remained standing, not even moving a bit. He gave me a quick look before proceeding inside. What was that? I thought. We were both standing, waiting for the elevator, when he suddenly spoke, “What the hell are you waiting for?! Press the ground floor!” I flinched with his sudden outburst. I blankly stared at him before I put my bag down and pressed the ground floor. Can’t he see that I’m holding too many stuffs on my hands, and he even asked me to press the floor?! “I’m the boss here,” he murmured, speaking like he have heard my thoughts. I rolled my eyes in annoyance until the elevator stops. I followed him as he walked out firmly. There was his black Bentley car waiting for us. He entered the backseat while I hop through the passenger seat. And there was one of his men on the driver's seat, wearing a black suit. The car stopped at a gasoline station and I saw a supermarket beside it. I looked back. “Can I just go by the supermarket real quick? I’m going---” “No,” he spat without even letting me finish my statement. “I’m just going to buy a new blouse because mine was already stained with coffee. And I want to look presentable at the meeting,” I continue. “Is my secretary deaf? I said no.” I inwardly groaned before turning my face back to the window. His driver looked at me before apologetically smiling. I just nodded, and then the engine started. It didn’t take us that long when we arrived at the tall and elegant blue building. His driver first got out and opened the door for him. I fixed myself, covering my stained blouse with the folder I’m holding. I quickly followed him inside. However, when I was just about to step my feet inside the building, my eyes caught a glimpse of a man standing on the front desk wearing his casual attire. My blood run cold as I was stiffened on my place. It was Blake, my ex.
