Chapter Eleven: Encourage

582 Words
"Clara! Clara!! Clara!!!" Shouted a pack of wolves from the entrance to Clara's house, the whole family all shocked came out rushing down the stairs to the door from their room. Opening the door with the handle was Jerry obviously because he happens to be the shield of the house and its members. "To what do I owe this noise? Visit or should I call it a threat?" Jerry looked agitated, asking the wolves standing by his doorstep going on their knees all at the same time. "Alpha Jerry, greetings to you this morning." "And to you too" replied Jerry with a frown on his face, "Who sent you all?" Jerry queried. "Sincerely this visit is a peaceful one meant for your beautiful niece Clara" said one of the handsome and calm looking werewolves with a smile on his face. "We were sent to her by Alpha Lucian who seeks her presence this very morning." He said as he bowed. Clara, who was standing behind her grandmother, ran up to her room with a gloomy and uncomfortable face. "I appreciate the invite and will convince my niece to honour it, but in the meantime try convincing your Alpha to have a calm heart awaiting her presence" Jerry said with a smile on his face while closing the door behind him. "My sugarplum, how do you feel about Lucian's request?" Fiona asked her granddaughter who was already looking upset sitting on her bed with her pillow held close to her chest. "Grandmother!" Clara called out to Fiona as she turned her back at her grandmother. "Where have you been all these years?" Clara asked Fiona as her voice broke. "Beloved" replied Fiona, "I have been watching over you from a far distance but had to stay far because of some inevitable past mistakes which I don't want to affect you negatively and that's why I am here now" Fiona paused for a while as she breathed in. "Clara I want to be here for you till my last breath, I want to make up for the time spent without you, it has been very painful and lonely without you, your dad or uncle" Fiona continued with teary eyes as she turned to Clara. "You may have recently heard that I was never fond of your uncle but that isn't true I have always loved my children equally." Fiona stood on her feet moving towards the window, still speaking, "The thing is your uncle has always disobeyed my orders and misused the love and affection. Your grandfather showed. Your grandfather died correcting and scolding Jerry for a mistake he made back as a teenager, since then I promised to go strict on Jerry for him to make the right decisions in life while growing up." Fiona inhales and exhales as she continues looking sad "That's the reason after your father's death. Jerry thought it would be preferable to be the father figure in your life instead of giving me the chance to raise you." Going back to sit on the bed with her granddaughter Fiona took Clara's hands in her palm "Clara I also love you immensely and will want the best for you, however I want you to have a rethink about Lucian's request, kindly honour it with patience and hope that things would go well, hence I will be here waiting for you to be your strength, shield and weapon to any harm that may come your way." Fiona encourages her granddaughter.
