Chapter Two: Invitation

They watched as a wolf transformed into a human being as Jerry gave him a towel to cover his nakedness as Clara looked away.
Jerry didn't seem surprised, he happened to know who that was.
"Klaus, my long-time friend, what brought you to our park at this time, it's almost past noon?" Jerry asked as he drew a wooden chair and handed it over to Klaus.
"It's been really a long time, my friend, but I have to be brief. I was sent by my alp…." Jerry interrupted before he could finish his statement.
"Sorry for interrupting. It's rude to have a discussion with my friend without having a drink", he said, as he turned towards Clara, who stood by the window, enjoying the view of the forest.
"Clara , get us two bottles of soda", Jerry commanded.
"I'm not here for drinks, as I've got many other things to do, being the Beta to the Alpha of Phantom Park and his best friend. I came to deliver a message", Klaus objected, looking at Jerry.
"Please accept this as a warm gesture", Jerry insisted as he touched his bald head.
"If you insist, so be it" he said with a little forceful smile and he shook his head.
"Clara quickly grabbed those sodas" as he looked again at his niece as she left to get the drinks.
They both looked at Clara as she walked out and shut the door behind her.
"The Alpha of Phantom Park seeks an audience with you" Klaus said as he stood up to leave.
"You don't have to leave so suddenly, wait for your soda and let's have a little discussion so as to catch up for old time's sake", Jerry said.
Klaus stood thoughtful for a while, as he cleaned his face with his right hand and sat down on the wooden chair he was given.
"How's he really coping?" Jerry asked.
"Who are you referring to?" Klaus asked as he looked directly in the eyes of Jerry with curiosity.
They both turned to the direction of the entrance as they heard the door creaking. Clara came in with two sodas in both hands as she handed the one on her right hand to Klaus, who smiled at her and the one on her left to his uncle.
Jerry dropped his soda on the floor and turned to Clara and motioned her to leave. They both sat silent as they watched Clara leave.
"As you were saying……." Klaus broke the silence as he stared at Jerry with curiosity in his eyes.
