His presence was felt even before I heard the voice as he stepped in the room. Our energy was dangerous, explosive, unpredictable, all the more reason I shouldn’t be here right after what he’d done. People would question my loyalty and beliefs. Hell, I’d questioned myself plenty of times, but I had questions, and I needed answers. His parents had been supportive along, with Savio surprisingly and McKayla with letting me stay at their home for the past week. I didn’t know he was still staying at his parents’ home the whole time until he’d stepped in to talk to me.
“We’ll give you some privacy.” His father stood to leave, along with his mother.
“Thank you again, Mr. and Mrs. Calabresi.”
“Call us for anything, Rena,” his mom suggested.
