PROMISE POV:

Once we walked into howlers, I noticed alpha niko acting strange. Didn't really put much thought into it, as I was excited to see my ma' and brother. So I ran as fast as I could. Almost couldn't stop, and almost ran into a poor girl at the bar. To save the awkwardness, I hurried up and introduced myself. I saw her stiffen when mase and Alpha niko walked in. I started putting two and two together. I didn't wanna blurt out what I was witnessing, so I hurried to the back before it got too intense.

The bar was relatively packed, so hurrying to the back wasn't as easy as I hoped. instead, I hopped over and ran into the back. Tiny! I shouted alpha - "Before I had a chance to finish my sentence, he put his hand over my mouth. PROMISE! he whispered, yelled, "She doesn't know she's human". I grabbed his Goliath hand off my face and glared. Well tiny, I just wanted to tell you that she is alpha niko mate! he staggered back and asked, "Are you sure? Of course I'm sure you're a big ole glute! I just watched her reaction when he and mase walked into the bar. I left before I saw his. where's Mama? over the yonder. Mama! where are you?! then I heard her yell, promise stop with that hollering before u make my ears bleed. "

"You know darn well I can hear you! well, you're hollering, too. I retorted like a child. alpha niko found his mate! it's that girl at the bar! promise, don't joke like that mama said, I'm not seen first hand. Told tiny he was here, so I think Mr. Nosey went to go see for himself. I'm gonna head back out and see. I just had to share the news with you!" As I walked back out, Niko was standing next to her, and mase was talking with Skylar. All of sudden, he made the way towards them. I sighed. I know he can be a jerk to new comers, guess I'll see how she handles this. Once I heard their conversation, I was quite pleased how she handled my pushy mate.

So I walked toward them. All of sudden, she went silent and swallowed hard. I bet cha she thinks Niko is with me. I chuckled at the thought. "Hey! faith, right? she looked down, then back up. Yes? I just wanted to introduce you to my husband, but it looks like he's ready ahead of me? this is mase."

She visually relaxed, oh my goodness. "I thought Niko was with you." I couldn't help but laugh. "No suga this one right here is mine, Mr niko here is singel." I heard her heart rate go up, so she does like him. Hmmm..faith continued, "I was talking to your brother about helping me find a crew to help with the old farmhouse on Star Lane and suggested him. It looks like they led you to the right people, I said. Well, if you you will excuse me, I'm gonna take mase here and do some square dancing. Hope to see you around bye, suga!"

Faith looked back towards tiny and then glanced over at niko once again. "So that was interesting:. Both males chuckled "yea she can be at a bit much sometimes but means well." Niko cleared his throat. So you were upset when you thought I was with her, huh? I looked over at him, feeling the heat rose to my cheeks. I um well I uh I just didn't want to cause problems. sure, he says well if it makes it any better. I will be honored to help you clean your house. Would you care to walk with me over to the lounge where it's a bit quieter? we can uh talk about the contract and maybe make plans for tomorrow?" My nerves piling up.

My hands started claming and heart pounding against my chest. Why am I acting like this? it's just discussing a contract. Right before I was able to make a decision once again, Mary came flying out behind the bar, pushing everyone past to get to us. "Hi darling!! Do you need any more drinks or gumbo? I chuckled, actually Mrs Mary, you said there's a room above the bar, correct? while yes, child there is. Are you still interested? yes ma'am I am. I'm pretty tired and would give anything to get a shower and wash this air port grime and the day off of me.

She looks over a Niko, then back to me. Sure thing, I'll lead you up to the back stairs this way. Thank you. Do you mind if I run out to my car and grab my bag? I have my essentials in there." Before she could respond, Niko offered to run out and grab it for me, saying that "I shouldn't go to a dark parking lot by myself." I reluctantly agreed and gave him my keys. Once he leaves, mary leads me to the back stairs behind the bar. I follow her up the stairs, and once she opens the door, she shows me where everything is. I thanked her and gave her a hug for everything. She gave me a firm hug back and bid me good night.

As she was retreating, Niko came up. He handed me my bag, and I thanked him and wished him good night as well. With a head nod, he too went down the stairs. I turned and walked inside the room . I leaned against the door and sighed. The room was small but cute. Nice open floor plan with a full-size bed, with a walk-in shower. small kitchenette. I walked over to the bedroom, setting my bag down and padding over to the shower. Turning on the faucet, letting the water get as hot as I can take it. After about 20 mins, I got out and rubbed the mirror free of steam. Doing my business and then heading to bed. Once I hit the mattress, I don't even remember closing my eyes.
