As I sat at the bar waiting for Mary to bring out her famous gumbo. I finally got to look around more. The corner I was sitting in seems like it was often used in a reserved section. With its velvet seats, almost soundproof settings, the lights were dim, and it gave it a very relaxing vibe to it. My gaze caught a crowd of people coming in. the men were all tall as tiny, and the woman seemed to be out of a magazine. They all looked very happy, and excitied about something. The women were hooked on their arms as they walked in, let go and ran up to the jukebox, and started looking for songs. The men clapped each other on the back and laughed at a joke. One of them said.
Then, they took a seat at the bar. All of sudden, their noses raised up almost like sniffing the turned and started whispering to themselves. I wonder what that is about, I thought? no sooner those thoughts were pushed back, Mary came walking over with the beer, and my gumbo. Mary, I asked she just hummed in response, "Who are those people?" I asked. she looked over in my line of vision she patted my back and said hunny those are people from the pac-town people they live here a few miles away." You must pay no mind to them. They're not used to new people moving here. Mary, they sniffed when they came in? what was that about I asked? she stiffened, then relaxed. Oh, they were probably just smelling the fresh gumbo i made finally find those pots tiny hid from me.
you said you thought the pups took it? She stiffened again and chuckled, darling. Don't worry about your mind over that. I like to call younger people pups because they are just as reckless as puppies. I noticed how her teeth grinded as she spoke that. Almost like it was too awkward for her to say on her lips. You said you need a handyman to help with the house? I can tell how she quickly wanted to change the topic, so I went along. yes, I do. Would any of these guys be able to help? Mary looked and sighed. I would rather you talk to the lead Forman his name is Niko. I instantly beamed at hearing that. "Gosh, Mary, that will be freaking amazing! He has a good construction company and will be able to get your started in no time. do you mind waiting around for a bit he should be here in a few moments? yea thats fine. My belly is giving its gratitude for the food anyway.
Would you happen to know of a place I can shower and spend the night? I would rather not sleep in a new place with it being dark and unfamiliar. Of course, sweet child, you can stay above the bar tonight. My youngest daughter stayed there till she met her husband. She should be here as well. I think you two would get along great! I will leave you to your food and drinks. Thank you again for your hospitality, I truly do appreciate it. No problem child, as I said, we are very happy you're here, and hopefully, you love it here as much as we do." With that, she walked away and went back to the bar.
Faith was sitting at the table eating and drinking. She decided it was probably a good time to text Macie and let her know what happened.
FAITH: Hey girl! I miss you lots already. I made it to the house. It definitely needs a lot of work. I decided it was best to find a place to spend a night after my faucet broke on the tub. with no ac, and a nice shower wasn't happening, lol..
MACIE: OMG! hey hun! I'm glad to hear from you! I miss you more! so how's the town? meet anyone yet? you made a killer in sales today with the seasonal scents. Meet any heart throbs? you're so lucky to be out of the city.
FAITH: The only people I have met were tiny and Mary. Who names a guy tiny, when he's almost 7 feet tall?! it's crazy! I'm waiting for a guy named Niko. He's supposed to have a construction company. Hopefully, he can help and has reasonable prices. The forest is beautiful here.
MACIE: You're kidding me, right? his name is tiny?? that's great. Well, I don't mean to cut ya short chick, I gotta make a call and head to bed. Good night! Good luck tomorrow!
FAITH: Oh, okay, good night! I'll let ya know how things go take care, and thank you again for helping with the shop!
Huh, that was weird. She never cuts me short like that. Oh well, I guess I better head back up to the bar and get another drink. I wonder when this niko is getting here. It's getting late, and i'm getting beat. As I'm walking up to the bar, I hear a few cars coming, hoping to make it there before I get pushed back. Just as I got up to the counter, the door flew open, and in came a beautiful dark haird green eyed beauty. She was tall at least 5'10 legs for days and a cute button nose. Perfect white straight teeth you saw, as she smiled wide and started running towards the bar. I moved to the left at the last moment when she collided with it.
After she came in, 2 guys followed. One had cinnamon colored hair and at least 6'5 280lbs. Geez, what's in the water that these people are so tall, i thought? just as the second guy walked in, I lost my breath. jet black hair, his eyes were really unique like a turquoise blue. He was at least 6,11 easliy 300lbs. his white t-shirt went halfway down his bicep, which showed another beautiful wolf tattoo. His wolf tattoo was better than tiny's .
His wolf was pure white with what looked like marble or pepper flakes throughout it. Behind them, the door shut with the wind. His cologne hit my nose like a frate train, the smell of carmel mixed with vanilla. which was really weird, I thought, but my body decided differently. My hands went clamy, heart all bout flew out of my chest, and my knees almost buckled. If it wasn't for me holding on to the bar, I would have fallen. When I caught my balance and looked up again, he was still there, standing and staring at me just like I was him with his faded washed out blue jeans lord help me. The world seemed to un pause as the beauty that burst in first directed my attention. "Hi! I'm promise! she said as she reached out her hand, I'm tiny, sister! mama told me you were here! back there is Niko and Mase. Mind if I sit here with you?! sure, I say," Great. I was just checking out my future help, I thought.
