When Aurora realized that the last part of the book Sandra gave her was added by her aunt, she had stopped reading and decided to seek her out to tell her story herself. Somehow, reading the handwritten entry in what seemed to be her family’s diary felt too personal, as if she was intruding in her aunt’s private life. The entire book was written by hand, and it was obvious that many different people had participated in filling those pages with personal experiences of historical events, starting from about 150 years ago. It was like reading a story that spanned over a decade from different points of views, making it more personal than any history book ever could.
