Noel realized what he was before his accident. He was a famous actor working on a movie with his fiance Nicolas. It was a movie based in the Victorian era where Nicolas, who was a middle aged wealthy man goes on a journey and meets a present boy Noel and takes a liking to him.
The two then engage in an exciting f*******n relationship before they are discovered. To escape the punishment, Nicolas runs away with Noel to a far distant land.
They were shooting for the last shot where Nicolas and Noel kiss each other in the sunset on the ship they are running away from.
Nicolas was dragged out on his "old man" makeup and Noel was practicing his line.
He got on the fake prop up ship and waited for Nicolas to come. Soon he arrived and the director instructed them to start acting.
