I FINALLY CALL JOHN

376 Words
After two weeks wondering when I should call John I finally made up my mind "Hello, am I speaking to John? " I asked, my heart almost jumping out of my chest "Yes, who am I speaking to? " He answered, I introduced myself briefly to him and he seemed so happy. He gave me directions to his new home and we were to meet that weekend. Grandma helped me choose a beautiful long silk dress I wore that evening and the shoes that shone like stars,I all was dressed to kill, drove to his place on the eighth street. "You welcome" he said as I walked in into his amazing apartment, one could tell his love for architecture by the pictures on the walls, "You may have a seat" he begged. As I sat down he brought out a bottle of wine and he poured it out in fine glasses but as he did, John seemed stressed and tired, he had told me the last time we had met how he was working with a construction company and that's why he was in town. "Is anything going wrong with the construction company? " I asked, "No, not really" he replied, sounding like he didn't want to talk about it. Then he asked about grandma, everyone who studied with me during the eighth grade knew about my parents death and how I stayed with grandma. It was as if he had asked me about my daily life so we talked a lot about her and had a lot of laughter together, that's when he asked "Can I have a dance with you, Elizabeth?" and I felt butterflies in my stomach. The way he was dressed charmingly in that suit I wished he asked for something more "Yes John!" I said with a smile cheek to cheek. We danced to a song so beautifully that I got lost in his eyes and I couldn't resist but kiss his cute pink lips, and he passionately kissed me back. "This is wrong, am sorry" he said amidst our first kiss, for a minute I was confused why he thought it was wrong but I remained speechless and so was he. I ran out to my car in tears and drove home.
