Bella looked at the guard.
The guard was having trouble breathing.
"What do you mean the place burned down?" Bella asked.
The guard tried to catch his breath.
"The fire started after the explosions underground, " he said.
The firefighters got there as fast as they could.
By the time they arrived there was almost nothing left of the building.
Salvatore's face turned dark.
"Was anyone hurt?" he asked.
The guard shook his head.
"We do not know yet, " he said.
Bella thought of Elena away.
Then she thought of the man in the hood.
Neither of them was answering their phones.
Bella did not know if they were alive or not.
Across the city Leo got the news.
Luca ran into the council room looking pale.
"The Founders Chapel is gone, " he said.
