Mark and I decided to treat the boys to a day trip to the coast the weekend before their A-level courses began.
Blackpool’s world-famous illuminations had been switched on the night before, so Blackpool seemed like an obvious choice.
Much of the day was spent in the Pleasure Beach. We bought a family ticket, which allowed us to go on any ride we chose for no extra cost. However, the warm weather, combined with it being the last weekend before school started up again, meant the place was crowded and there were long queues for all the popular rides.
“That’s what I call a ride!” Sam exclaimed as he scrambled out of the car of the Big Dipper.
