When Travis finished his beer, he tossed the can into the trash and stepped out of the kitchen. He headed up the stairs to the second floor, toward his bedroom. Opening the door, his gaze immediately landed on the bed. Catherine lay with her back to him, appearing to be in a deep sleep. He also noticed the two pillows she had placed between them as a barricade. Travis couldn't help but scoff. Did she really think he was going to crawl over to her?
