Chapter Two

Elise sensed her packmates' attention on her as they entered the clearing. She knew from their disapproving looks that they had already figured out what had happened.

"Elise," her father said with sternness as he approached her. What have you been doing?

Elise took a full breath, preparing herself for what was to come. " She maintained her even voice as she stated, "I was out on patrol." In the forest, I came across a human. I assisted him because he was hurt."

The expression on her father's face changed slightly. Is he still around?

Elise gestured, feeling Alex's hand fix around hers. " "Yes," she replied. With me is he."

Her packmates stared at one another in nervous silence, unsure of what to do. While she waited for someone to speak, Elise held her breath.

The silence was finally broken by her father. "Very well," he said in a gruff voice. We will discuss this later. We must concentrate on our pack's safety for the time being."

As her fellow pack members began to disperse and return to their responsibilities, Elise felt a wave of relief wash over her. Despite the fact that their love was not widely acknowledged, it appeared that they had escaped punishment for the time being.

Elise, overwhelmed with gratitude, turned to Alex as they left the clearing. Much thanks to you for accompanying me," she said.

Alex grinned at her, his hand actually interlaced with hers. " He declared, "I'll always be there for you." whatever happens."

As she listened to his words, Elise felt tears well up in the corners of her eyes. She was aware that they would overcome any challenges together, and that she had never experienced love like it.

Alex was led by Elise to her cozy, small den, where she frequently went to think alone. She lit a couple of candles and signaled for Alex to plunk down on a close by pad.

"Are you certain that you can remain here safely?" With a look of worry on her face, Elise inquired. It's possible that my pack isn't happy about us being together.

Alex's face changed to one of seriousness. He stated, "I know the dangers." Elise, I can't avoid you, though. I require your presence."

Elise's heart expanded with feeling as she checked Alex out. She couldn't deny the intense feelings she had for him, despite the fact that she was aware that he was putting himself in danger by being with her.

They enjoyed each other's company and talked and laughed for the next few hours. Elise was aware that she needed to return to her pack before they again noticed her absence as the sun began to set.

"I need to go," she expressed, standing up from her pad. " Come see me soon."

Alex also got up and grabbed her hand. He said, "I'll be waiting for you," with intense eyes. Elise, I'll always be here for you.

She leaned in and gave him a passionate kiss, feeling the heat in her body. As they separated, she felt an ache of pity in her heart. She was determined to make their love work, even though she was aware that it would never be easy.

The following couple of days were a haze of movement for Elise. Together with her packmates, she went on patrol to make sure their territory was safe from any potential dangers. She also spent as much time as she could with Alex, even when no one was looking.

However, despite her efforts to conceal their relationship, the pack began to hear rumors. As she observed Alex's interactions with her packmates, Elise could feel their disapproval, and she was aware that her father would soon find out.

Elise heard a noise coming from the clearing one night as she was returning to her den. She enlivened her speed, her heart beating in her chest.

She saw her father standing in the middle of the clearing, surrounded by the rest of the pack, when she got there. Alex was standing next to him and appeared anxious.

"Elise," her dad said, his voice cold. " We must talk."

As she stepped forward with her eyes fixed on Alex, Elise felt a knot form in her stomach. He took a gander at her with a combination of dread and trust in his eyes, and she realize that their future together was yet to be determined.

"Dad, what is it?" In an effort to maintain her tone, Elise asked.

Her father said, gesturing toward Alex, "I've heard some disturbing rumors about your association with this human." You know our regulations, Elise. Humans and werewolves cannot mate."

As her worst fears were confirmed, Elise felt her heart break. She had consistently realized that her adoration for Alex would be met with dissatisfaction from her pack, however she had trusted that they would more comprehend.

Elise replied, "I know the laws, father, but I can't help how I feel." I adore Alex and know he adores me as well."

"Love? Elise, your father said, his voice rising, "You don't know a single thing about love." When a werewolf and a human are together, love cannot exist. It is a threat to our pack and our lifestyle."

Elise felt tears pricking at the edges of her eyes. In a way, she was aware that her father was correct. Their adoration was perilous, and it conflicted with all that her pack represented. However, her emotions were unavoidable.

"I grasp your interests, father," she said, her voice scarcely over a murmur. " However, I am unable to ignore my feelings for Alex. I can't simply disregard him."

He stepped forward to place a hand on her shoulder after his expression softened a little. I know it's hard, Elise," he said. " However, you must consider the pack. You must consider our safety."

Elise said, feeling defeated, "I know." But I have no idea what to do."

Her father said in a firm voice, "You must end things with him, Elise." The only way is through."

Elise felt her unfortunate as she investigated at Alex, who was watching the trade with a tormented demeanor all over. She was aware that her father was correct and that their relationship was too risky to continue. However, she felt hopeless at the thought of breaking up with Alex.

"I'll do it," she said, her voice scarcely over a murmur.

Her dad gestured, looking eased. " "Good," he declared. It is beneficial."

She felt a sense of emptiness in her chest as she left the clearing. Although she was aware that breaking up with Alex was the right thing to do, it did not lessen the pain. She wondered if their love was doomed from the start or if they would ever be able to be together. Elise made every effort to stay away from Alex over the following days. She managed to keep her distance as much as possible despite the fact that they remained in the same pack and worked together on patrols. It was challenging.

However, despite her efforts, she was unable to resist falling in love with him. Her heart ached with longing each time she caught a glimpse of him. She realize that she needed to end things with him, however it seemed like an actual difficulty.

Elise had trouble sleeping one night. Alex consumed her thoughts as she tossed and turned in her bed. At long last, incapable to take it any longer, she got up and left the pack's cave, advancing toward the edge of the woodland.

As she strolled, she heard a twig snap behind her. She went to see Alex, standing a couple of feet away.

She spoke in a barely audible whisper, "Alex." What are you doing here?"

"I was unable to avoid you," Alex said, making a stride nearer to her. " Love you, Elise. I can't simply ignore you.

His words caused a surge of emotion in Elise. She realize that she cherished him as well, and that it was basically impossible to battle it.

She said, with tears streaming down her face, "I love you as well." Yet, we can't be together. It poses too much risk."

Alex said, holding her in his arms, "I don't care." I'll effectively accompany you."

As she held onto Alex, Elise felt a wave of relief wash over her. She realize that their affection was risky, and that it would be met with dissatisfaction from their pack, however at that time, she couldn't have cared less. The love they shared was all that mattered.

Throughout the following couple of weeks, Elise and Alex kept on gathering covertly. They were aware of the dangers of their relationship, but they couldn't help but be drawn to one another. However, it was only a matter of time before their love was discovered, despite their best efforts to conceal it.

She could hear people talking about reports of werewolves in the area as she got closer. They were wanting to lay out snares and catch the animal, not understanding that they were discussing Elise.

Elise frantically scanned the surrounding area, looking for a way out, her chest tightening with anxiety. She was unable to allow them to get her, or it would mean certain death for all that she had at any point known.

She felt a hand on her shoulder as she was about to run for it. She twirled around, prepared to protect herself, yet was feeling quite a bit better to see that it was Alex.
