Chapter38

1032 Words

Trishal's POV And then I watched him dredge up the beautiful memories I had with Loren, starting from the first time I met him while I was dying, to meeting him in his study. The happy moments we shared, the less happy ones, the memories of when we fought and those of us laughing together, flashed through my mind like pages of a book. Then they began to crumble and disappear, lighting up at the edges and burning until they were nothing but ashes swept away by the breeze. I let him erase the memories I treasured, one by one, having no willpower to stop him even as tears clouded my eyes and fell. I couldn’t manage even a blink. A memory of myself on the bed with Loren from that fateful Saturday surfaced, and I saw myself telling him I loved him in my head but not able to say it out loud.
