Here we go then, I took up my stance and got into position. "Leg's slightly apart, and raise those chicken arms properly." Loren corrected in a commanding tone. This brought about a burst of laughter from the others who were watching. "Enough, chit-chat!" I growled and attacked. He batted me like a fly, sending me sprawling on the floor. "Is this all you've been teaching her, Corman?—" He looked at my instructor turning his back on me. This was a big insult to my ego! "She isn't a fast learner, my Lord." I used the opportunity of him being distracted to strike a hit to his back. He dodged it at the last moment and had me falling at the momentum of the kick. Before I could hit the ground, he caught me by my waist. I stared wide-eyed, at my nemesis who is also my savior at the same time. He returned the look, assessing me. I couldn't guess what he was thinking about behind those stormy gray eyes. A smirk suddenly appeared on his devilish handsome face, making him look more devilish, and then I was falling. I fell so fast. It didn't occur to me till my ass hit the ground and the pain in my behind went straight to my brain. My wolf purred happily. 'Enjoying the show?' “No, the man.” She replied, happily. I got up quickly, seeing that I was the only supporter of myself, and took up my battle stance. This time, taking note of Loren's correction. I made the ‘come get me motion’ with my hands. I heard Corman sighing heavily behind me. Why is he pretending that he will be sad to see me gone? I rolled my eyes. He grinned. "Can you handle it?" Before I could understand what was happening, I felt a gust of wind by my side and then a fist on my face, which had me biting down on my tongue. Followed by a blow to my stomach that left me out of breath and when I thought it was all over, I felt a hard kick to my kneecap which left me in pain because it felt like I had lost that leg. He was damn too fast. I couldn't predict his next line of attack, the pain I was left with seemed to be the only evidence to show he had hit me and the obvious injuries. If I were human, my kneecap would have dislocated in this instance. I fell on my knees, gasping for breath even as my vision went blurry. I looked up to see him strolling towards me, like he was a model on a runway. “Why are there two Loren?” I shook my head to correct my vision, though it was proving difficult. He came to a stop before me looking like an avenging angel or deon rather. He bent down slowly, and took my chin in his hand, gently stroking my jaw with his long tapered fingers. As he gazed intently into my eyes, filled with fury and disbelief. "How?" I managed to mumble out. He smiled gently. "I'm way more powerful than your little mind can comprehend, child." He said. Child!! All because of a few blows, nice. His thumb grazed my lower lip, which had a cut on the side. I winced slightly from the sting. "I'm not to be trifled with," he whispered in a husky voice,” “I could have easily ended your life, like a lead plucked off a branch.” He added. The smile dropped from his face and, just like that, the aura around him became menacing and dark. Everywhere went quiet suddenly. Yeah, I had awakened the tiger in the wolf. Well done Trishal, a good way to go. My wolf whined and turned on her back with her belly and her paws in the air. He stood up slowly, like a predator who had gorged itself full on its prey, and then wiped his hands meticulously on his coat, as if he had just come in contact with filth. "I'm far from satisfied with her teachings, Corman.” His lazy grin came back on. My instructor walked forward and extended a hand to help me up, which I ignored. I stood up slowly, limping and heaving in pain even as I felt my body begin to mend back. "I would have to make time for her teachings then." "What!" “Wasn't that what you wanted?” my wolf asked mockingly. ******** I am in the pack house, but I don't know how I got here. Everywhere is silent and dark. Where are the wolves? A hand suddenly grabbed me out of the darkness. "Hello sister." It was Amber, a cunning smile expressed on her lips. "You're here for Thomas?" I turned to look at her and then saw Thomas come out of a room, going to Amber and embracing her from behind. "No!" I shook my head in denial. Not wanting to relieve that pain of betrayal again. "He's mine, little sister, " She laughed maniacally. Her eyes filled with mischief and malice. "—and everything you hold dear." The pack members suddenly appeared one by one behind her, all of them with accusatory looks on their faces directed towards me. "Mine!" Her voice grew louder, and I stepped back involuntarily, covering my ears with my palm, trying to block out her voice and the Pack's murmurings. "No!" I screamed and woke up. My mouth opened wide but no sound from my mouth. Panting heavily, I looked around and realized I was in my room. And yes, I still live in Loren's house. After all, he's a wonderful host. The last thing I remembered was fainting when Corman had to set my leg bones right so they could heal properly. And there I was thinking I didn't sustain any injury to my bone. Feeling parched, I got down gently from the bed and decided to get water. "Why don't you just tell her?" The words floated into my hearing as I passed by Loren's study. It would be bad to eavesdrop. I cautioned myself, but my legs found they had a mind of their own, and before I knew it, I was standing at the door with my ears to it. "I'm not sure, yet." Loren replied gently. There was a slight pause and then the sound of a cup being placed on the table. "She needs to know, brother. Sooner or later, words will spread." What are they talking about? I think I know who she is though. But what is Corman so particular that I know about? The door opened suddenly, and I stumbled in, right into Loren's arms. He smirked down at me, his eyes glowing in the darkness. "Now, who do we have here?"
