Warning: This chapter includes forms of physical violence and abuse. Earlier that morning... Jennifer P.O.V I woke up around 02:36 in the morning to a commotion downstairs. Thinking that maybe it was a squirrel that got into the house through an open window and was struggling to get out again. I quickly slipped on my slippers and walked down the stairs. As I rounded the corner into the kitchen, my heart instantly stopped dead in my chest. The sight I saw before me was the most frightening. In my mess of a kitchen stood 4 big men completely naked - looking through my cupboards and throwing things around. Once they noticed my presence, I bolted upstairs, with the plan of locking myself in my room until help could arrive. Before I could even reach the stairs, a large hand grabbed my ankle and my head soon met the first step of the stairs. As my head bounced off the step, all I could feel was darkness enclosing me and I soon fell unconscious. *** I woke up with a massive headache. I slowly tried to open my eyes only to still see darkness, soon realizing I was blindfolded. All I could hear was 3 male voices talking amongst each other. My head was throbbing and I felt a cold wet sensation running down my neck. As I tried to move my hands to investigate what was going on with my neck. I noticed that my hands were restrained as well as my legs. I heard footsteps approaching me. The stranger lifted my chin to look upwards. His next words sent chills of fear down my spine, "My, my, I never knew humans took so long to recover. Not to worry, it won't be long now, then we can dispose of your pathetic little body." I started thrashing around, trying to give some form of resistance as best as I could. That was when I felt it, a burning pain across my legs. It happened again and again, and that's when I realized what the stranger was using to hurt me - a whip. He slashed the whip all over my body; my legs, my arms, my stomach, and my face. All I could do was scream at the top of my lungs for the stranger to stop. "Keep her quiet! We don't want any werewolves to hear her screaming and come to us!" A rough voice in the back said. Wait? Werewolves? Please not, please let them not find me, they will hurt me even more. I kept trashing around, screaming, crying, hoping that someone who could help me would hear me. The stranger shoved a cloth in my mouth and continued to whip me. I then felt his hand on my head and everything went black. *** Jarrod P.O.V As we went from room to room, clearing it. I picked up Jennifer's scent and it became stronger and stronger the further into the house we went. Cole signaled that there was a stairwell going down to the basement. John, where are you guys at? We found a basement with a strong scent of Jennifer. We think she might be down there. I quickly linked John and Rick together. As we neared the basement door, we could hear three voices speaking to one another. We sat next to the door to try and figure out what their plan was. "Do you think she really is the right girl? She doesn't look to be so special as the master said she was. Besides, she's a human, nothing can be that special about her?" Voice 1 said. Voice 2 growled, "Never, as in NEVER, question that master's plan! She fits the exact description. Maybe she just hasn't come into her powers yet." Voice 3 laughed. "Oh, I would have the joy of disposing of her if she's not the right one. Maybe I will first have my way with her, you know -" I didn't even give him the time of day as I burst through the door grabbing him by his throat. He gave a slight squeal before, eventually, I snapped his neck. The f*cker deserves it for talking about my mate like that. As I looked around for another piece of filth I could have the joy of f*cking up, my eyes landed on my mate. I instantly ran to her. She was unconscious. I removed the blindfold over her eyes and took the cloth from her mouth. My heart broke for her. She looked so beaten up. Blood came from her head, she had open gashes all over her body. You could see the tear stains on her face. My poor mate was crying from all the pain these f*ckers inflicted on her. Anger soon raised as I gave an earth-shaking growl. I took a few quick breaths to calm myself before lightly picking Jennifer up and placing her in my lap. I lightly patted her cheek in an attempt to wake her up. Nothing. I tapped her a little harder. Still nothing. As I looked in front of me, I saw that Jason, John, Rick, and Cole were busy beating the living sh*t out of the other two rogues. I stood up with Jennifer in my arms, carrying her bridal style, up the stairs to the Jeep. The pack doctor needed to look her over ASAP! I sat in the Jeep, waiting for my brothers to return while lightly stroking Jennifer's cheek. A sudden jolt went through her and she jumped in my lap, looking around frantically before her eyes landed on me. Relief quickly replaced the panic on her face."Jarrod? Oh, thank god! Jarrod they were going to kill me, they kidnapped me, they hurt me, I'm so scared" She sobbed, all kinds of phrases coming out of her mouth. I pulled her tightly into my chest as I let her sob. "Shhh, shhh. It's okay starshine, I've got you. It's all over now" I calmly whispered into her ear. "No!" She started panicking again, "Jarrod, they are going to come back for me, please, I can't" She started crying harder and hyperventilating. I just rubbed small circles on her back in an attempt to calm her down. "Hey, they aren't coming back for you, we are sorting them out. You're okay. You will always be safe with me", I whispered in her ear. I could still hear her hyperventilating. "Deep slow breaths starshine, come on. In and out, in and out." After a few minutes, her body stilled again and I knew that she was sleeping. I just cradled her close to my chest. A few moments later, Jason and John got into the car, completely covered in blood. No doubt that those two rogues were lifeless and limbless by now. "How is she?" they both asked in unison. "She's broken, they whipped her, beat her, she has blood coming from her head. We need to get her to the pack hospital, like now!" "F*ck!" was all I heard Jason say as he started the Jeep and sped off towards the packhouse. Please, Moongoddes, let her be okay! Those words repeatedly came through my mind as we started the long drive home.
