Chapter Seventeen Deirdre felt like she was hiding out in Tommy’s room. They’d been lying in his bed for over an hour, watching TV without really paying attention. As much as she liked the idea of avoiding people, she was getting hungry. It was near suppertime and the stress of the day was still eating away at her. “I’m hungry. Is there food in the refrigerator to cook?” “I have no idea.
