Chapter 4 - The Dinner

1156 Words
Sheila’s POV. My Dad made sure the servants were at my beck and call always. As soon as I got out of the bathroom, one of the servants knocked and came in with a box in hand. “Alpha Sheila, your father has asked me to give this outfit to you for the event at Rough Mountain,” she said, bowing her head. “Thanks, Kathy,” I replied. Kathy is more like my personal servant and is always at my service. I opened the box and it was a pretty sky-blue dress. I couldn't wait to put it on. It was my first gift from my Dad since I returned. Kathy helped me to put it on. It was a corset dress. “It looks perfect on you ma'am” Kathy complimented after helping me tie the rope at the back. “Thanks, Kathy,” I said. My Dad beamed a smile at me as I walked towards him. We walked to the car and he drove off. “You look so perfect in that dress, it reminds me of your Mum” Dad complimented me and I just smiled. It was the first time he made reference to my mother and I didn't want to push it. I couldn't wait to get to Rough Mountain Pack. After a while, we finally got there. Dad stepped out of the car and got the door for me, and I stepped out, we were escorted into the Alpha's cabin, my Dad in front and me following closely behind him. Alpha Tyler Brooks and his wife, Luna Abbey Brooks were standing at the massive dining table. “Welcome Alpha Donald Thompson, we're very honored to have you and your lovely daughter,” Alpha Tyler Brooks said and my Dad smiled and gave a slight nod to Luna Abbey who bowed slightly at Dad. I thought we'd meet with other Alpha's here but it turns out it was just my Dad and I that were the guests. “Enough with the cutesy old friend, come here.” my Dad said, extending a handshake to Alpha Tyler. They laughed loudly as they hugged themselves. “You look well, Sheila. Pardon me that I haven't come to see you since the last time I came and you were still unconscious.” Luna Abbey said, hugging me. “Ashley and Damian will be here soon,” she added. I smiled at her looking a bit lost. “Oh I mean my son and daughter” she added knowing their names didn't strike any cord. I smiled at her in response and we all sat. I was quite bothered and disappointed that I didn't remember anything at the sight of my father's friend, Alpha Tyler, as I had expected. Just then a man came in, he was introduced as the Beta of Rough Mountain pack, Beta Stephen Smith. As soon as my eyes met with his everything came flooding back. I kept touching my temple with the tip of my fingers as I frowned from the hurt I felt there. I couldn't control the playback I was having in my head. I remember everything now. My name is Hannah Smith the daughter of Beta Stephen Smith. Oh my goodness! I had been reborn in the body of Sheila Thompson, the daughter of the most powerful Alpha in White Mountain. I remember how I died, it was painful, I was pushed off the rooftop, but I just can't remember by whom. “Are you okay?” Dad asked worriedly. “I'm fine Dad” I answered with a half smile. I could tell he was still worried so I looked at him and gave a reassuring smile. “How could you Ashley?” Damian shouted as he dragged Ashley by her wrist. “Let go of your sister Damian, I thought you better than that. Please behave yourselves, it's your father's birthday.” Luna Abbey said with disappointment and frustration in her voice. “How could you Ashley?” Damian asked again with a teary voice and tears threatening to drop from his eyes. “What did she do to you Ashley?” he kept asking Ashley. Everyone knew he was hurt. I couldn't help but wonder what his sister must have done to hurt him so much because this is not the Damian I remember. Alpha Tyler and my Dad just watched the two quietly. “Why did you kill her? Hannah has been nothing but a friend to you, Ashley, why did you kill her?” Damian kept asking his sister with the tears rolling down. “What did you just say?” Beta Stephen Smith said, jumping to his feet. “There has to be some misunderstanding,” Alpha Damian said. “Yes,” Luna Abbey backed him up. “Son, what are you saying?” Luna Abbey asked desperately for some explanation. “She killed Hannah,” Damian said almost in a whisper. “How could she? Hannah was my fated mate, we were to be married but this…” Damian was about to curse but stopped. “She killed my fated mate putting me through so much pain. How could she?” Everyone could see Beta Stephen Smith struggling to contain his anger and emotions as he ground his teeth. I was too broken-hearted to do anything at the realization that I was killed by my best friend. “Ashley, what is Damian saying? Tell me it's not true. You had nothing to do with Hannah's death right?” Luna Abbey asked. All eyes were on Ashley anticipating her response. I wanted to know what she had to say to defend herself. I felt for my Dad, I could see how hurt he was and how he tried to remain calm out of respect for the Alpha. “I’m sorry but I had to, she was stealing my life and I was not just going to sit back and watch her. I am the only daughter of the Alpha and I should have whatever I want, but no, Hannah gets it all. She gets fated to my brother, an Alpha and I get fated to a common Omega.” “How dare you, a common Omega, lay your filthy finger on my daughter? How dare you?” Beta Stephen Smith roared. “don’t call me an Omega, I'm the daughter of the Alpha…” Ashley argued when Beta Stephen Smith cut in. “Shut up! You daughter of a common Omega.” He roared. “I tried to talk the Alpha and Luna out of adopting you and taking you in as their daughter, but Luna Abbey wanted a daughter. Now my beloved girl is gone. Killed by your filthy hands.” Beta Stephen Smith thundered My mouth and ey es were wide open as a touch, I couldn't believe that Ashley was an adopted child. “Aargh!”
