Emily’s POV
“Thank you, Ems,” Amy reached for my hand from across the table “You cannot imagine how happy I am that you came. Austin told me that you always have a busy schedule,”.
“C’mon, Amy,” I smiled “You cannot imagine how happy I was when you finally called. Ever since that incident….”.
“No, no, no,” She interrupted me mid-sentence “Let’s forget about the past. I realized you’re my only friend and I’ve got no other choice. Besides, we were going to say it anyway,” she chuckled nervously.
I regarded my friend closely and for the first time since we entered the restaurant, I noticed how tired her eyes were and how much she was making an effort not to frown, something was wrong.
“How are you doing?” I squeezed our held hands trying to pass on some warmth from me.
“The truth?”
