When I landed in Michigan I was even more depressed. I had no where to go, I couldn't shift and I didn't know where the packs resided. I didn't want to trespass. I waved down a taxi and went to the nearest hotel.

The hotel was owned by a nice couple. I told her I was new in town and asked if she knew who was hiring. She gave me a job as a housekeeper and a couple of days later I found a nice apartment that I could afford. One of the guests owned a bar and was nice enough to give me a job as a bartender and that's how the next month went.

Working as a housekeeper in the day and bar tending at night. I was extremely lonely but what could I do? I was banished, my wolf was slowly leaving me and i was basically becoming human.

I knocked on the room door. “Housekeeping.” I said after knocking again. After waiting 5 minutes I went in and began to clean. I was currently cleaning under the bed when someone cleared their throat.

“Nice view.” I jumped up and turned around. I blushed when I saw that he was only wearing a towel, I probably was drooling.

He cleared his throat again and I bet my face went redder. “I’m sorry, I knocked and waited but no one answered.” I said nervously he chuckled.

“Its OK I'll get dressed in the restroom while you finish.”

By the time he got out I was done and gathering my things. “Have a nice day.” I said before leaving.

“Hey!” He called. “Yes?” I answered nervously. Oh no was he unhappy with my work? I needed this job.

“Would you like to go out?” I blinked my eyes, I must be sleep, I know he didn’t just ask me out!

“I don't know.”

“Oh come on its just dinner.” Why the hell not? Its not like my mates want me.

“Sure. Where do you want to meet?”

“In town, there's an nice restaurant called Luigi's see you there at 8.”

“OK” After that I was in a good mood for the rest of the day. He was the first person to talk to me since I've been here.

When I got home I showered, shaved and curled my hair. I didn't know what to wear this would be my first date. I was never interested in dating because I wanted to save all of that for my mate, I snorted what a waste of time. I decided on black skinny jeans, a nice red off the shoulder shirt and red heels. I got dressed and called a cab.

When I arrived at the restaurant it was 7:50, He was already there. He waved me over, I sat down and looked at him, he was handsome. “You look lovely.” He handed me a flower and I cheesed like a fool.

The date was fun, I laughed and surprisingly wasn't crazy shy like always. We walked out the restaurant and was about to kiss when a cup of soda was thrown at the back of my shirt.

“What the hell?” He growled. He's a were, he must not know who I am.

Hey, he said that I couldn't join a pack or go on their territory, he never said that I couldn’t date.

“Apologize!” He had the kid by the throat.

“Hell no she deserves it. Do you know who she is?” The kid asked.

“Yeah my date.” Ken answered.

“No she's the one who attacked the King.” My face paled, the town must be on pack lands. Ken growled.

“Are you sure?” He asked.

“Yeah I saw her picture, you didn't get the notice Beta?”

“No, I've been out of the country.” The boy showed him my picture and his eyes flashed black. He dismissed the boy and stalked towards me.

“You attacked my King!” He yelled.

“No it was a misunderstanding, I was trying to help I would never hurt him.” He had me by the throat, I was struggling I couldn't breath.

“Please.” I whispered. A growl behind him made him drop me.

“Alpha.” Ken greeted.

“What is the meaning of this?”

“She attacked our king.”

“I know but you never got the memo. As much as everyone wants to kill her we cant, they ordered us not to hurt her for some unknown reason.”

The Alpha turned to me. “You may roam the town its not packs territory but stay away from my members.” I nodded my head. He was a scary dude.

“You are a piece of trash.” Ken said before walking towards the Alpha.

I took off my heels and started walking home. When I arrived home I began to cry, stupid mate I said to myself. I cried all night I was lonely and scared. What if more wolves around here found out who I was? They would probably attack.

I woke up and looked in the mirror. I've changed in the last month, my hazel eyes don't sparkle anymore and I had bags under my eyes. I didn't deserve this I was a nice person.

I did my business and called my brother I missed him so much.

“Yeah.” His deep voice answered.

“Its me.”

“Joy thank god I was so worried.”

“I'm fine Caine I promise.” That was total lie, I was a mess but he didn’t need to know that.

“Where are you?”

“In Michigan.”

“I wish I could see you.”

“Me to, I miss everybody so much.” I sobbed, I couldn’t control it I tried to so that he wouldn’t worry more than what he already is.

“Please don't cry Joy. I wish I could come to you but he ordered me not to.”

“Its fine I'll be OK.”

“Do you need anything?” He asked. Yeah to reverse time.

“No I have 2 jobs. I applied for a nursing position but they turned me down, guess they have weres working there.” I sighed I cant believe how my life has turned around.

“I’m glad I have you, I love you.”

“Love you to sis.”

“How is everyone? Are you guys being blamed for me?”

“No dads still the Beta. The people who knew you knows that you would never do anything to hurt anyone.”

“Well I have to go to work I'll call you in a few days.”

“OK.”

“Bye.” I hung up and threw my phone on the bed. I had nothing to do and no one to talk to. I was scared to go into town after yesterday. I was so bored I decided to get on f******k and look at pics.

Half of my friends deleted me and I had many hateful comments. I ignored them and tried to play games but the constant pop up chat boxes with people cursing me out hurt my feelings. I closed my laptop and decided to clean up. After that I watched TV and got an idea, I've always wanted a fluffy white cat.

I got dressed and went to the pet shop when I was about to leave 4 men blocked my way, I knew they were werewolves. I swallowed the lump in my throat.

“Please, I don't want any trouble.”

“Please I don't want any trouble.” He mocked.

I tried to step around but he grabbed my arm, tears started flowing from my eyes.

“Hey what is going on here?” The security guard asked.

“Nothing just seeing if she needed help.”

“Yeah well keep it moving.” He bent down to my ear.

“See you at the bar.” How did he know where I worked? I quickly got into my taxi and went to the hardware store to by extra locks. I then went home and ordered silver bars for my windows after getting permission from the landlord, he said that he understood. Having a daughter my age safety was important to him.

I fed the cat and set up her litter box and play area. I took a shower and put on the skimpy uniform for work. When I arrived it was jammed packed men kept hitting on me and weres kept glaring at me.

6 Months Later Damien

I woke up and immediately closed my eyes the light was to bright. “Damien!” My brother said I looked over at him he looked like hell.

“What's going on?” I asked.

“You were attacked by rogues.” I growled remembering that night, my eyes widened remembering meeting my mate.

“Mate! Where is she?” Damon growled his eyes going black he was always the short tempered one.

“That traitor is not our mate.” He yelled.

“What are you talking about where is she?” I remember her visiting me then she stopped all of a sudden. I wanted to wake up and see her smile she always talked to me like I was awake and kissed my cheek before she left.

“Is she OK?” I asked alarmed, if someone hurt her...“I banished her from pack life and ordered her not to shift.”

“WHAT?” I roared, my wolf was pissed.

“She could be killed Damon!” I yelled.

“She tried to kill you, she's lucky that's all I did” I took deep breaths trying to calm down.

“She didn't try to kill me you i***t! She scared them off she was trying to help. Before I completely passed out I heard her telling me to stay awake and called 911. You put our mate in danger.”

“But the rogues.” I laughed bitterly.

“You listened to rogues instead of our mate?”

“There was also a tape of them running away. The girl on the tape was the same height and had the same hair color as Joy.”

“You better hope that she's OK or I'll never forgive you.”

Damon

Sh*t! How could I have been so stupid? He was right, I listened to filthy rogues over her. But all of the evidence pointed to her. I put my mate in danger, I did order everyone not to hurt her but people these days are crazy. I ran to my office I have to find her and apologize. I have a lot of making up to do.

6 Months Later Joy

“Hey over here Joy.” I went to the end of the bar and served my favorite customer. I saw women fixing their tops to show more cleavage, I rolled my eyes but then their scent hit me... Hard. I looked around and saw them by the door, handsome couldn't describe them.

There they stood there 6' 3 pure muscle, black hair and the only way to tell them apart was by their eyes. Damon eyes are blue and Damien's are green.

They looked my way and I panicked. “Joy!” They yelled, shocked I turn and ran to the back and through the panic door. My boss had it built for emergencies and only employees knew about it.

I got in my car and went home to get Princess. Yeah I named her Princess, at least one of us could be one. I already had a bag packed in case this ever happened, I knew they would be looking for me.

I drove for about an hour to a convenience store. I died my hair from blonde to black and sprayed some perfume to cover my scent and took off again... South Carolina here I come. It took me a day to get to South Carolina because I stopped to rest for a few. I could have taken a plane but I knew they probably had weres looking for me that's why I switched cars.

My brother had set up for me to get a new identity I was so grateful that I had him. I walked into the house it was already furnished and felt cozy.

“Princess we're home.” She meowed and licked my face. I sat her down and she went her own way. I called my brother from my new phone to let him know I made it but it wasn’t him that answered.

24 Hours Earlier

“Come on Damien stop being an old man and lets go to the bar I need a break and a drink.” He sighed.

“Alright.” We pulled over at a bar in town. I was exhausted, we had been traveling looking for Joy since he woke up. I was losing hope but he wasn't.

We walked in I was disgusted, as soon we walked in the door women were all over us but I stopped when her scent hit me.

“MATE” Me and brother said at the same time. I looked around and saw her staring at us shocked. She looked different, she lost weight and her sparkling eyes were dull she also looked like she haven't slept.

But what pissed me off was the scar going from her ear to her collar bone, which could have only been done by silver. Someone was going to die I gave everyone specific orders not to touch her.

All my thoughts flew out the window when she turned and ran. My brother and I took off after her but when we got to the back she had disappeared. My brother growled and grabbed some man from the kitchen demanding him to tell us where she went. By the time we got to the end of the tunnel and back to the parking lot she was gone. “s**t” I roared.

I mind linked the Alpha of this area and told him we needed his men to help find her. I then notified our Betas telling them to start contacting all the Alphas in the state to look for her. I was not letting her go again, you can run babe but you cant hide.
