Thoughts of what was needed of her flood her mind once realising that she had truly made it to hell .
Her end.
Was she supposed to report her come back before settling in first or find an inn near by?
Deciding on the latter to lift a burden off her mind she drives off.
More mistakes were a detour she had left behind many years ago.
She knew better now.
Was more mature now.
If they thought she could break easily then their bad.
After driving for miles that seem unending Ravena decided on a break before she broke something.
Hopefully not her neck for it was giving in.
The tender thing sore to the bone.
...............
The inn she stood at better than what she had expected. With her mind always expecting the least she couldn't blame it.
The yellow walls and dim doors a mixture of blend.
A rightful blend.
Her short legs strode inside cowardly not sure of what they would find yet her fear hidden well.
"Hello how am to assist you?"
The raven haired lady before her smiled too much for her liking but she dismissed the thought.
It was none of her concern.
"I would like a room for a few months please."
"Fill in here please"
Writing down the necessities Ravena hands the lady the form once done.
"Follow me please."
And she did so in dread.
As they neared a room with the number seven on the door she sighed in relief.
The lady unlocked the door and let's her follow in behind.
It wasn't bad. All in all it had everything she needed in a house.
After a quick shower and sip of wine or more of a sip Ravena wills her heart to do as it supposed to.
Her phone had been ringing unendly and trouble was ahead if she didn't report back to the pack anytime soon.
With her usual attire of a sweater big enough for the three of them and sweats Ravena slid into her worn out car and was at the exclusive land in no time.
Once there she parks far from everything in sight.
She didn't belong here so why try to blend?
Dismissing the thought abruptly Ravena McRae got out the car. Her legs refusing her minds will.
The nice houses surrounding the pack house full and alive as she remembered.
A place fruitful and full of life and sometimes joy.
The once huge mansion she called home a door away.
Questioning eyes of pack members who remembered her and made it clear she was unwelcome narrow at her in pure disdain.
She was clearly still unwanted.
Unneeded.
She nears the huge doors and before she could knock the scent that had traumatised her soul since forever hit her.
The waves hard and unforgiving forcing the mean beast within to rise from its long sleep.
A sleep of hopeleness.
It perks it's ears up in naivety and all the human could do was suppress a cry.
Oh how she used to love the smell but now only the beast did.
For it was still weak and naive the owner calmed it down and hid her emotions well.
Emotions lead to destruction. The girl reminds her beast too mamy times before it agrees reluctantly.
As it understood, what the scent so sweet could do and without any further boost she knocked on the door.
Harsh and hard.
Her pulse hitting her skin hard. The pressure nearly unbearable.
The figure that opened the door one she used to play around with.
It's nearly familiar blue eyes now narrow and calculating.
Pinning her down in question but the girl staring back in halt hid her fear well as always.
Emotions are burdens she could do without.
As the blue orbs continue their pin down on her own pale blue one's the girl too stare back.
Even though her's was in pain and sadness Ravena McRae doesn't look back nor away.
The pressure hard for her to bear but she did.
Unwillingly.
Joy was lost from them it seemed. A face so stern a cold.
Emotionless.
Something she wished she could achieve.
Lifeless yet breathing.
There in front of her stood Anjar Jaryd.
Her once ride or die. A soul so free she once too many wished to trade life with but now. Now she had her doubts.
Clearing her throat as to get on with the awkwardness she sighs.
"Anjar."
The once boy now grown man frowns and stands aside. The judjment of her sins clear as sun in his eyes.
His once lean boyish form now bulky and ripped with muscle.
The skin tan and hard.
His frame too tall for her own good and his own for that matter. He had grown.
Unlike her.
Everyone seemed to have unlike her for Ravena was still short as a brick and skinny as a whip.
Her baby face and void features adding to her torment.
Not dwelling on her looks that much for she had almost made peace with them she slips into the once familiar house.
A welcome of white being new for she remembered it beige once upon a time.
Anjar says nothing but walks ahead. A gesture she took as a follow.
And she did.
Her eyes trying too hard not to take in the stranger in front of them. His ink hair tugged into a burn and his beard more than a year old yet trimmed to perfection.
The man looked more a northmen than an alphas son but she held her tongue and roaming eyes.
Certainly he could feel them on him.
They continue the walk toward's the stairs nearing the god forbid saturating scent of chocolate powder and mint.
A scent she hated with a passion yet almost died for.
It's heavy waves wooing its way to her senses as if belonging.
Was she even ready?
Prepared for the stare down?
Probably not but what had to be done had to be done.
She had been away on a mission to learn self control and regroup and now her tests have arrived.
Anjar opens the door to the alphas office without concernt and she followed by.
Her senses on high alert and the wolf beneath fighting for control.
Needing it's other half.
A half that hated it's guts yet still the naive beast wanted.
Needed what could never be her's.
Once inside she felt it.
The way the scent wrapped around at her as if pulling her toward something magnetic.
An urge to deny and She did with the wolf crying in the process but the girl knew it was worth it.
If he didn't want her she was not going to force him to.
She was not that girl anymore.
Doing her best not to look foolish nor cause a scene Ravena shuts her eyes and pretended to be alone.
Her wolf dying by the minute inside in agony. It's need to touch and feel more than an urge now. After what felt like forever Ravena opened her eyes but decides on pinning them to the ground.
Her senses feeling the presence of four bodies present.
As if on a test the nose smiffed them out one by one and as expected the're in the room was the alpha and Luna the other two besides Anjar a toungue away from her lips and mind to slip in mention.
Eyes to the ground still she mumbled her greetings.
"Alpha.... Luna Jaryd."
It would be disrespect if she stared the alpha in the eyes so she kept them abay.
"Ravena glad to have you back. As you know am stepping down."
Frowning at his word for she didn't know she let the words go.
It didn't matter anyway.
The alphas scent of oranges and mud full her nose hard as his steps near Ravena's figure.
He was trying too hard to be civil. Especially with what he had done to her back not ages ago.
"Ravena it's time to put the past behind. The pack neeeds someone like you around. An intelligent mind with hands so equipped."
"Yes my dear the last pack doctor is unfortunately with the moon now and with what he had achieved we only hope to try your best." Luna Jaryd's voice is more stern than her husbands.
From fright of closeness she holds her ground hoping that her panic to touch wasn't visible, wasn't clear as day.
Self control.
Giving in she squared her shoulders and tried hard to concentrate.
At least on a something that could aid her.
For a scent that could calm her within the passing time.
Taking in a lung full a plaster of composer clothing her face she hints something woody and rainy. Smell far from sweet.
A woody rainy scent making way to her own as it wraps around her being. Its touch so cotton and soft yet firm causing her surprise.
Ravena now hails to the sky for she was going to be saved.
Help.
She was getting aid.
For why was the owner trying to help her and whom did it belong to she had yet to know.
Her senses remembered the scent from far back but his mind couldn't tell to him it belonged.
Finally remembering the owner her eyes head shot straight. Ravena's pale eyes colliding with ice blue ones in a clash so hard she nearly stumbled back.
A stare that had been pinning her down moments ago upon her arrival feets away.
The stare now more piercing and culculating yet helpful.
Anjar was comforting her with his own scent.
Why?
Had he seen through her fake facade?
Upon wonder a second scent makes way around. Trying to fight the one she so loved childishly ages ago.
A scent of chocolate and mint but now laced with lavender. A combination that had once sent her on blood lust and that's when Ravena lost it.
Nearly.
The beast within on a rage for it dispised the lavender more than the chocolate.
A scent worth a fight with for it took away what was hers. What was meant to be her completor.
Her other half right in front of her.
Iris stood afar from her. Her soft brown eyes and blonde hair perfect as always.
The stunning woman now holding Ravena McRae's eyes in a dare for control as the once naive girl realised what Iris wanted from her.
It was clear she wanted her to fail. To show lack of control within mere minutes of her arrival. The beast beneath felt it worth it but the girl otherwise.
For her to loose control it has to be by the girls cord and not the fury beasts.
Dismissing the atop scent of choco mint she keeps stern.
Rooted and unwaiding.
The determination she once in a while held pouring in.
"Ravena my son is going to take my place in the next moon. Zarida is taking the alpha position along with Iris as his Luna."
" The ceremony will take place at dawn and three moons later they will wed."
The words cause a howl deep within by but the girl outward suppressed it down, burrying the agony deep within.
Stone under a place she rarely visited till times like this.
Ravena could feel as her friend and fore slip away from grip.
Its claws loosing fight as they scrape her heart bleeding. The weakened beast once more losing its self leaving the girl fragile behind.
Alone as always.
As it hid and cowered away, something it did at times like this.
Hardy times.
Once a shell the girl looks up to a figure she hadn't seen in a while.
Something she had been ignoring till now.
Till her half had freed it's self from her in agony.
Someone who had made it clear held no time for her. His black eyes staring voidly at her.
Zarida knew what had happened. His once cute face now stern and mature hiding his knowledge.
Her wolf was gone leaving the girl alone and empty inside.
She was but a mere human now. Nothing more not less.
"Yes alpha" her respond programmed.
"With that said your tests will begin the day after tomorrow, for now rest and settle in. I will have Anjar show you to your room."
"Its It's fine alpha I've found a place to reside."
The room silent she shuts her eyes waiting for her dismissal.
Unfortunately it never came.
"I think it's best if you reside in the mansion for we have to see for our self your growth." With that being a command than request Ravena McRae nods in agreement.
"Ok alpha. Thanks"
Luna Jaryd voices a few thanks and welcomes her way but as she nears Ravena for an embrace she turns her back after a short thanks and heads out the door.
There was nothing more she could offer other than her own dismissal.
