Chapter 8 - Have To Move On

450 Words
I woke to a heavy heart and buzzing phone. Groggily, I answer. "Riva, I didn't get his number." Alice sobbed on the other end. I laugh. "You didn't, but luckily, I did." A loud screech comes from the other line, making me drop the phone. "Send it to me. I can't believe I've never seen him before. He was so sweet and the taste of his lips." "OK!" I say upruptly. "He seemed nice. Made sure to stop me so I'd give someone his number as she was too wasted to get it herself." She groaned. "I deserve a pass. I just got cheated on." My smile freezes a little, but I keep it light. "Fine, my little drunkard, do you want his number or not?" "Yes, send it to me." She whined. I chuckle and hang up, then send her a photo of the note. I hop in the shower and throwing on a quick change of clothes, I head to class. It hadn't been long since the semester started, so I was still getting to know the people in my classes. I enter my first class, English, and take a seat towards the back. Taking out my pen and paper, I waited for the professor to start. As I wait, I zone out some recalling how Andrew's voice sounded then of the image of the blonde. "May I sit here?" A husky voice asks, startling me from my thoughts. "Oh yes, sure." I say blushing with embarrassment. He takes a seat on the other side of me. "Thanks. I'm Sylas." He said, extending his hand. I take it in mine. "Riva." I say as I give it a shake. He smiles a really beautiful smile. "I hear this class is supposed to be a breeze. Only two presentations." I smile back."Really? Thank God I had one last year that I felt had us do one every other week." He grimaced. "Oof, let me know the name of that professor so that I'll never take him." I giggle. "Don't worry, as long as you avoid Mr. Mccarthy, you'll be fine." Not long after that, the professor called the class to order, and I put my focus back on my studies. After class, sylas stops me. "Where do you go after this?" "I've got one more class then lunch, why?" He runs his hand through his light brown hair. "Would you like to get lunch after?" I look at him and think for a minute. He was cute, and I was in need of a distraction. "Sure," I say, smiling. "My class gets out at 11:30. I'll meet you at the front doors?" He beams at me."Absolutely, I'll be there."
